(54) A printing wheel for a serial printer


(57) The printing wheel 30 has arms 32 each bearing one type element 33. The printing wheel 30 is made up of two sub-wheels 30a and 30b. On sub-wheel 30a arms 32a bearing type elements 33a which are arranged around a first circumference are provided. On sub-wheel 30b arms 32b bearing type elements 33b arranged around a second, smaller, circumference are provided.
The arms 32a and 32b are all of the same length.
When the two sub-wheels 30a and 30b are fitted together arms 32b are arranged between arms 32a around respective circumferences. Thereby more type elements can be provided on the printing wheel without an increase in the outer diameter of the printing wheel.
