(57) A low voltage track lighting system has a track 2 and a lamp fitting 4. The track
2 is a plastics material extrusion 7,8 with conducting rails 5 on either side. The
fitting 4 has a pair of contacts 14 cam driven in the direction of arrows A for low
ohmic loss contact with the rails 5. The sandwich arrangement of the rails 5 on either
side of a central web 7 of the extrusion 7, 8 allows the compressed sandwich to resist
the earning action. The contacts 14 have a shape complementary to that of the rails
