(57) Stable liquid dishwashing compositions are provided incorporating an alkyl benzene
sulphonate and/or alkyl sulphate, an alkyl ethoxy sulphate and an ethoxylated C

13 alcohol containing an average of (Eav) from 1.5 to 25 moles of ethylene oxide per
mole of alcohol and wherein the ethoxylated alcohol contains no more than 1% by weight
of unethoxylated alcohol when Eav<9 and no more than 2% by weight of unethoxylated
alcohol when 9<Eav<25.
