(54) Method of packaging a single mattress to a small size able to be conveniently carried


(57) The thickness of the elastic structure of the mattress is reduced through pressing and feeding means cantileverly protruding, on which the open cover and the flexible wrapper are fitted; pressing means flatten said mattress along with its cover and its flexible wrapper, to transfer it to a winding and pressing device comprising mandrel means, being axially sliding and rotating, and a pressing and rolling cylinder elastically urged towards said mandrel; at least two ribbon shaped adhesive strings are placed around the mattress being in a rolled configuration on said mandrel.
