Environmentally safe method for the removal of residual polyethers from aqueous waste
streams |
(57) An environmentally safe method is provided for the removal and disposal of residual
water soluble polymers, particularly polyethers, from aqueous waste streams, wherein
a pretreated inert inorganic substrate is contacted with the waste stream and the
polymer contained therein adsorbed onto the substrate. Thereafter, the polymers are
removed from the substrate as CO₂ and water by combustion and the substrate subjected
to regenerative conditions for recycling.
