    (54) Booth for toilet and the like

    (57) A booth for a toilet and the like characterized in that the whole or a part of a door (4) or a peripheral wall (5) is curved outwardly. The inner space thereof is enlarged, so that neither oppressive sensation nor cramped sensation is present in the booth. The enlarged space can be effectively utilized and the appearance is improved.

    Description

    BACKGROUND OF THE INVENTION

    Field of the Invention

    [0001] This invention relates to booths for a toilet booth, a shower booth, a telephone booth and the like in a school, a hospital, a public office, an office building, a department store, a hotel and the like as well as a general household.

    Description of the Prior Art

    [0002] The conventional booths are of square shapes in general and all of the peripheral walls consist of flat plates. Moreover, it cannot be said that the interiors of the booths have satisfactory spaces. For this reason, in the case of a toilet for example, when a user is seated on a toilet seat, due to the posture of the user, the door or peripheral walls and the body of the user are positioned close to each other, an oppressive sensation and a cramped sensation which are combined with a feeling of smallness of the booth result in uncomfortableness.

    [0003] Furthermore, necessity has been voiced for placing as many toilets and the like as possible within a limited space, so that every booth cannot have enough space.

    SUMMARY OF THE INVENTION

    [0004]

    [0005] Therefore, an object of the present invention is to provide a booth for a toilet and the like, capable of giving an enough inner space, alleviating a compressive sensation and a cramped sensation and allowing an uncramped feeling of a user.

    [0006] Another object of the present invention is to provide a booth for a toilet and the like, capable of effectively utilizing an enlarged space portion and realizing an aesthetic effect in the appearance.

    [0007] A further object of the present invention is to provide a booth for a toilet and the like, wherein a booth installation area is not so much different from that in the usual case, the booth can be installed on odd-shaped walls not easily utilizable, and, even in that case, no feeling of unfitness is felt.

    [0008] Other and further objects, features and advantages of the present invention will appear more fully from the following description.

    [0009] The present invention relates to a booth for a toilet and the like, characterized in that a portion of the peripheral wall such as a door is curved outwardly.

    Fig. 2 is a schematic plan view thereof;

    Fig. 3 is a partially omitted detailed plan view thereof;

    Fig. 6 is a view showing an example in which a door is coupled to a front plate panel.

    DESCRIPTION OF THE PREFERRED EMBODIMENTS

    [0011] Preferred embodiments of the present invention will be explained with reference to the drawings.

    [0012] Fig. 1 is a partially cut-away perspective view showing one embodiment, in which the present invention is applied to a toilet booth. Referring to the drawing, designated at 1 are wall surface panels constituting the toilet booth, and 2 a door for the toilet booth. Denoted at 3 are partitions formed of panel plates, for forming a plurality of toilet booths. Designated at 4 is a door mounted to the partition 3 and suitably curved outwardly to form a curved surface. Even if the door is curved outwardly, a satisfactory space is provided outside a booth in general, whereby an expanded portion of the door will not interfere with anything. It is needless to say that the door 4 may be either an outwardly opened type or an inwardly opened type. In examples shown in Figs. 2 and 3, only the door 4 is curved and a front plate panel 5 is flat. In this case, opposite side ends 4a of the door 4 may be formed into flat plates, and hinges, a lock and the like may be secured thereto as in the usual case (See Fig. 3). However, when ease of manufacture and reduced manufacturing costs are taken into consideration, an aluminium frame 4b having a special shape for interconnecting the flat plate and the curved plate may be preferably provided as shown in Fig. 6.

    [0013] In examples shown in Figs. 4 and 5, not only the door 4 is curved but also the front plate panel 5 is outwardly curved in conformity with the curved surface of the door 4. In this case also, it is simple and convenient that the front panel 5, door 4, partition 3 and wall 6 be interconnected through aluminium frames conforming to the respective shapes of the components. An arrangement in which the door 4 and the front plate panel 5 have the curved surfaces as described above, is satisfactorily suitable for cornered walls as shown in Fig. 4 and odd-shaped walls such as a circularly curved walls as well as flat walls 6 on the site where the toilet room is installed. Namely, even in the case of the odd-shaped wall, neither the feeling of unfitness nor unnaturalness is felt, the spacious interior of the booth can be secured and the odd-shaped space can be effectively utilized.

    [0014] Incidentally, in Fig. 1, denoted at 7 is a toilet bowl unit, 8 a urinal unit, 9 a sink, 10 a washbasin unit and 11 a piping chamber.

    [0015] In the above-described examples, the door is curved, and further, the whole of the door is curved. However, the partitions and the like may be curved and a portion of the door and the like only may be curved. Further, the booth according to the present invention should not necessarily be limited to the case where the wall surfaces as shown are utilized, and an arrangement in which poles are erected to form a rigid frame structure and the like may be adopted.

    [0016] In the enlarged space created by the booth according to the present invention, hooks for hats, clothes and the like and shelves and the like for magazines, small personal belongings and the like may be provided, and, as the case may be, a television set, a radio and the like may be set. In the case of the door openable inwardly, there is such an advantage that a toilet paper holder and the like which are secured to the wall can be shielded therebehind and do not interfere with the door. Furthermore, when the door and the like are curved, there are such merits that characteristics of a surface covering material having luster and the like is further emphasized and the door is highly improved in mechanical strength.
