BACKGROUND OF THE INVENTION
[0001] The present invention relates to a dress form for patterning and testing cloth and
hat articles for children and teen-agers, as defined in the preamble of claim 1 and
known from US-A-4 885 844.
[0002] As is known, for properly preparing cloth articles in general, it is necessary to
use a dress form reproducing the actual construction or shape of a human body.
[0003] At present these dress forms are made according to a very reduced number of morphologic
shapes and size.
[0004] Accordingly, these prior dress forms do not allow a good evaluation of the cloth
article being made, and this in particular with respect to its dressing characteristics.
SUMMARY OF THE INVENTION
[0005] Accordingly, the aim of the present invention is to overcome the above mentioned
problems, by providing an articulated dress form construction, which reproduces a
plurality of physical shapes and size of a child or teen-ager, so as to allow the
possibility of testing and monitoring the proper dressing characteristics of cloth
articles in general such as T-shirts, pullover, trousers, jackets and the like, specifically
provided to be worn by children and teen-agers.
[0006] Within the scope of the above mentioned aim, a main object of the present invention
is to provide such a dress-form construction which is very reliable and safe in operation
and which can be specifically used for patterning and testing hat articles for children
and teen-agers.
[0007] According to one aspect of the present invention, the above mentioned aim and objects,
as well as yet other objects, which will become more apparent hereinafter, are achieved
by a dress-form for patterning and testing cloth and hat articles for children and
teen-agers according to claim 1.
BRIEF DESCRIPTION OF THE DRAWINGS
[0008] Further characteristics and advantages of the present invention will become more
apparent from the following detailed disclosure of a preferred, though not exclusive,
embodiment of an articulated dress-form construction reproducing the body of a child,
and being illustrated, by way of an indicative, but not limitative, example, in the
accompanying drawings, where:
Figure 1 is a side perspective view of the articulated dress form construction according
to the present invention; and
Figure 2 is a front perspective view of that same dress form construction.
DESCRIPTION OF THE PREFERRED EMBODIMENT
[0009] With reference to the number references of the figures of the accompanying drawings,
the subject articulated dress form construction, particularly designed for patterning
and testing child and teen-ager cloth and hat articles, which has been indicated generally
at the reference number 1, has been specifically designed depending on a plurality
of parameters, derived from a basic physical configuration.
[0010] More specifically, the specific value assigned to this basic configuration, is defined
depending on the specific types, size and shapes of the children and teen-agers, which
types can be classified as regular, robust, long-limbed and the like.
[0011] This value is processed through parameters deriving from the height and size of the
child and teen-ager.
[0012] More precisely, the processing of the above mentioned parameters is performed by
a computer and, accordingly, the result will be a series of weighed averaged values
which will allow to make several different dress forms faithfully corresponding to
the several physical configurations.
[0013] The thus made dress forms will have a height from 60 to 170 centimeters and will
be provided with suitable articulated elements, in particular at the shoulders 2,
the elbows 3, the hip regions 4, the knees 5 and feet 6.
[0014] Owing to the provision of these articulated elements, it will be possible to subject
each individual dress form to natural movements, thereby perfectly monitoring the
dressing characteristics of the cloth articles in general.
[0015] Moreover, since each dress form is provided with a head portion 7, in the embodiments
thereof up to a height of 118 centimeters, it will be possible to pattern and test
several types of hats.
[0016] From the above disclosure it should be apparent that the invention fully achieves
the intended aim and objects.
[0017] The fact is moreover to be pointed out that the storing of the above mentioned data
will afford the possibility to immediately recognizing the construction of a dress
form corresponding to the physical configuration of a child, owing to the storing,
as stated, of the above defined type or configuration values or parameters.
[0018] The invention as disclosed is susceptible to several variations and modifications
all of which will come within the scope of the inventive idea.
[0019] Moreover, all of the details can be replaced by other technically equivalent elements.
[0020] In practicing the invention, the used materials, provided that they are compatible
to the intended use, as well as the size and shapes thereof can be any, depending
on requirements.
