Device for illuminating the drawers in cabinets for the display of articles

[0001] The invention is for a device for attractively lighting transparent drawers which are installed one above the other in display cabinets and where the articles of any sort whatsoever displayed in the open upper side of the drawers are visible from the front of the cabinet.

[0002] Cabinets with transparent drawers provided with transparent lengthways dividing walls and in which the articles are displayed are known.

[0003] Also is known from the DE-U-88 05 602.3 a device for illuminating the front and the inside of a cabinet for the display of articles, wherein the front of transversely strips or of the drawers in the cabinet are transparent and provided on the inside with a translucent publicity or information panel, where the butt end of the lengthways dividing walls in the cabinet or the drawers are positioned at a distance from aforesaid front wall of the strips or drawers and a light source is provided between the front wall of the strips or drawers and the butt end of the dividing walls, for the illumination of aforesaid transparent front wall.

[0004] In order to obtain a brightly and unexpected illumination effect of the whole front of the cabinet in an attractive and surprising way, a device is realized according to the invention, in which the drawers are mounted inclined at a distance one above the other in the cabinet and the lengthways dividing walls are made of transparent material, so that the light rays of the bright source are transmitted lengthways through the transparent dividing walls and the upper lengthways edge of the transparent dividing walls.

[0005] By way of example and without in anyway being exhaustive a more detailed description is given below of a preferred embodiment of the device in accordance with the invention. This description refers to the attached drawing in which:

fig. 1 shows a perspective view of an illuminated drawer;

fig. 2 shows a longitudinal section of same.

[0006] In these figures it will be seen that several drawers 1 of a transparent material inclined forwards and downwards are located next to one another and at a distance one above the other in a display cabinet. The transparent front wall 3 of each drawer runs parallel with the front surface of the display cabinet 2 and is provided on the inside with a translucent panel for publicity or information 4. Each drawer 1 is provided with one or more lengthways dividing walls 5 made of transparent material the butt end 6 of which runs so that it rests against the upper edge of the front panel 3 of the drawer 1 thus creating a triangular space 7 in which a light source 8, such as a strip lamp, is located. Between the butt end of each dividing wall 5 and the front wall 3 of each drawer a transparent shade 9 is by preference arranged transversely in the drawer, so that the triangular space 7 is protected against dust and other waste.

[0007] The rays of light from the light source 8 are transmitted through the transparent front panel 3 causing aforementioned front panel with the transparent publicity or information panel to be efficiently illuminated. At the same time the light rays are transmitted through lengthways transparent dividing walls 5 so that not only is the upper edge 10 of same attractively and brightly lit but the articles contained in the drawers 1 are well illuminated. The display cabinet 2 with the drawers 1 fitted in it is in this way given a highly attractive appearance.

[0008] It goes without saying that the dimensions and the transparent material from which the drawers and the dividing walls are made, may differ and that also the number of lengthways dividing walls fitted in each drawer may also vary. Similarly the light source may be of any kind whatsoever.

Claims

1. Device for illuminating the drawers (1) of a cabinet (2) for the display of articles, wherein the front wall (3) of the drawers is transparent and provided on the inside with a translucent publicity or information panel (4), the butt end of each dividing wall (5) is positioned at a distance from aforesaid front wall of the drawers and a light source (8) is provided for the illumination of aforesaid transparent front wall, characterized by the fact that the drawers (1) are mounted inclined at a distance one above the other in the cabinet (2) and that the lengthways dividing walls (5) are made of transparent material, so that the light rays of the light source (8) are transmitted lengthways through the transparent dividing walls (5) and the upper lenghtways edge (10) of the transparent dividing walls (5) and the whole front of the cabinet are brightly lighted.

2. Device in accordance with claim 1, characterized by the fact that the transparent front panel (3) of each inclined drawer (1) runs parallel with the front surface of the cabinet (2) in which the drawers are located and that the butt end (6) of each lengthways dividing wall (5) rests against the upper edge of the front wall (3) of the drawers (1) and is covered by a transparent and transversely located screen (9) thus creating a triangular space (7) in the drawer (1) in which the light source (8) is provided.

Ansprüche

1. Einrichtung zur Beleuchtung der Schubfächer (1) eines Möbels (2) für die Auslage von Artikeln, bei der die Vorderwand (3) der Schubfächer durchsichtig ist und innen mit einer durchscheinenden Werbe- oder Infotafel (4) versehen ist, das Endstück jeder Trennwand (5) sich in einem Abstand zu oben genannter Vorderwand der Schubfächer befindet und eine Lichtquelle (8) zur Beleuchtung der oben genannten durchsichtigen Vorderwand vorgesehen ist, dadurch gekennzeichnet, dass die Schubfächer (1) in schräger Lage, abstandsweise, übereinander in dem Möbel (2) angebracht sind, und dass die längs liegenden Trennwände (5) aus durchsichtigem Material sind, so dass die Strahlen der Lichtquelle (8) in Längsrichtung von den durchsichtigen Trennwänden (5) und der längs liegenden Oberkante (10) der durchsichtigen Trennwände (5) weitergeleitet werden, und die gesamte Vorderseite des Möbels hell beleuchtet ist.

2. Einrichtung gemäss Anspruch 1, dadurch gekennzeichnet, dass die durchsichtige Vorderwand (3) jedes schräg angebrachten Schubflaches (1) sich parallel zu der Vorderseite des Möbels (2) mit den Schubflächern befindet, und dass das Endstück (6) jeder längs liegenden Trennwand (5) gegen die Oberkante der Vorderwand (3) der Schubfächer (1) stosst und von einer durchsichtigen sowie quer befestigten Blende (9) abgedeckt ist, so dass ein dreieckiger Freiraum (7) im Schubfach (1) entsteht, in dem die Lichtquelle (8) untergebracht ist.

Revendications

1. Dispositif d'éclairage des tiroirs (1) d'un meuble (2) servant à exposer des articles, dans lequel la paroi frontale transparente (3) des dits tiroirs est disposée à l'intérieur et Comporte une publicité ou une plaquette d'informations (4) translucides , l'extrémité de jointage de chacun des cloisonnements de séparation (5) est placé à distance de la dite paroi frontale ci-dessus mentionnée des tiroirs et une source de lumière (8) a été prévue pour illuminer la dite paroi frontale transparente,
   caractérisé par le fait que les tiroirs (1) occupent une position inclinée et sont montés l'un sur l'autre à l'intérieur du meuble (2) et que les cloisonnements de séparation longitudinaux (5) sont fabriqués en matériau transparent pour que les rayons de lumière de la source de lumière (8) soient transmis dans le sens de la longueur au travers des cloisonnements de séparation (5) et le bord supérieur longitudinal (10) et que la totalité de la paroi frontale du meuble soit brillament éclairée.

2. Dispositif selon la revendication 1 ci-dessus,
   caractérisé par le fait que le panneau frontal transparent (3) de chacun des tiroirs inclinés l s'étend parallèlement à la paroi frontale du meuble (2) dans lequel les tiroirs sont logés et par le fait que l'extrémité de jointage (6) de chacun des cloisonnements de séparation longitudinaux (5) repose contre le bord supérieur de la paroi frontale (3) des tiroirs (1) et est recouvert par un écran transparent (9) placé transversalement, ce qui a pour effet de créer un espace triangulaire (7) à l'intérieur du tiroir (1) dans lequel se loge la source de lumière (8).
