Technical Field
[0001] The technical solution is in regard to the bridge drain and falls into the category
of structural or constructional elements of bridges.
Background Art
[0002] The new device for drainage of the body of the footbridge is made-up of a vertical
drainpipe, which passes through the layers including the waterproofing and contains
a grate on the inlet as to catch dirt.
[0003] A disadvantage is that the horizontal grate can become clogged with dirt and therfore
can lead to inadequate drainage of all the layers.
Disclosure of the Invention
[0004] The footbridge drain, which can be placed in the body of the footbridge or any similar
bridge, is formed by a frame. Inside on parallel sides are openings, which contain
casings with thread for the embedded bolt.
[0005] The aim of the solution is that the drain frame is made-up of a plate, pot, frame
and outlet, which make one singular part, i.e. all parts are permanently joined together.
On the parallel outer sides of the frame are gaps for the drainage of the waterproofing.
[0006] In the drain frame on the seating surface is a narrow-ribbed grate, with a rib spacing
of 14-16mm.On parallel sides is a matrix element with an opening for the embedded
bolt. The top pedestrian outer surface of the narrow-ribbed grate is covered with
waterproofing, which forms the surface of the footbridge.
[0007] The advantage of the designed solution is its structure, which enables the surface
waterproofing to be welded onto the inside surface of the device. This ensures the
impermeability of the structure of the footbridge.
[0008] The production of the device is simplified by the fact that the plate, pot, frame
and drainage part are permanently joined and can therefore be made as a singular part
without the necessity of their interconnection.
[0009] This possibility is given by the placement of the device into the structure of the
footbridge. The footbridges for pedestrians or cyclists are constructed with less
inner layers. The bridge body has therefore a lower constructional height (thickness).
[0010] A huge advantage of the device is in the narrow-ribbed grate, which has a high load
capacity and subsequently the rib spacing is between 14-16mm so that it does not restrict
the pedestrian traffic.
Brief Description of the Drawings
[0011] An example of the designed solution is described with referral to the drawings, where
a cross-section of the drain frame and the waterproofing can be seen (pic1). Pic.2
is an oblique-angled view of the drain frame. Pic.3 is a front view of the narrow-ribbed
grate and pic.4 is an oblique-angled view of the narrow-ribbed grate.Pic.5 is of a
transverse cross-section of the whole set of the device.
Example of the Invention
[0012] According to the designed solution, a footbridge drain was used in the body of the
bridge for cyclists.
[0013] The drain is composed of a square drain frame
1 with openings
6 inside parallel sides, which contain a casing 10 with a thread.
[0014] The drain frame
1 is made-up of a plate, pot, frame and outlet, which are permanently joined as a singular
part. On the parallel outer sides of the frame
1, are gaps
4 for the drainage of the waterproofing
3.
[0015] In the drain frame
1 on the seating surfaces
5 is a narrow-ribbed grate
2.
[0016] The spacing of the narrow-ribbed grate
2 is 15 mm. The narrow-ribbed grate
2, has a matrix element
8 with an opening for the embedded bolt
7.
[0017] The top pedestrian outer surface of the narrow-ribbed grate
2 is covered with waterproofing
3, which forms the surface of the footbridge.
[0018] The narrow-ribbed grate
2 and frame
1 are connected by two embedded bolts
7, which pass through the opening of the matrix element
8 into the casing 10.
[0019] The practical usage of the designed solution is possible in pedestrian, cyclist and
vehicle traffic. It is also usable for the drainage of straight roofs, ramps or halls.
