[0001] The present invention relates to a lamppost for street lighting.
[0002] Lampposts for street lighting generally used consist of illumination sets, placed
at the top of posts along the road, so as to project light downwards onto the road
[0003] Such a lamppost is known for example from FR-A-2713309.
[0004] Even if systems of this kind are widespread and efficient, such lighting systems
do not always integrate perfectly within the urban environment.
[0005] In street lighting it is important, furthermore, to maximize the area illuminated,
as well as the uniformity of lighting.
[0006] The objective of the invention, therefore, is that of creating a lamppost for street
lighting which allows for maximization of the area to be illuminated, as well as the
uniformity of lighting.
[0007] Another objective of the invention is that of creating a lamppost for street lighting
capable of enhancing the urban context within which it is located.
[0008] Another objective of the invention is that of creating a lamppost for street lighting
with a revolutionary use of the materials with which it is made.
[0009] These and other objectives are achieved by a lamppost for street lighting, according
to claim 1, to which reference is made for sake of brevity.
[0010] Further features of the invention are defined in the other claims attached to the
present request.
[0011] Further objectives and advantages of the present invention will become more clear
from the following description and from the drawings attached, supplied purely as
an exemplificative and not limitative example, in which:
- figure 1 is a perspective view of a lamppost for street lighting consisting of a transparent
material, according to an embodiment of the present invention;

embodiment of the present invention;
- figure 8 is a front view of the optical luminous set of the lamppost of figure 7;

of the connection of the post of the lamppost of figure 14;
- figure 16 is a perspective view of a detail related to an inspection hole for access
to the electrical components of the post of the lamppost of the invention; and
- figure 17 is a section view according to a plan perpendicular to the longitudinal
axis of the post, of the inspection hole of the post of the lamppost of the invention.
[0012] With particular reference first of all to figure 1, a post for street lighting, according
to an embodiment of the present invention, is indicated in its whole with the reference
numeral 10.
[0013] The lamppost 10 has a base or a post 11 with a triangular equilateral section, consisting
of plates 17, 18 and 19 which are welded between themselves lengthwise; the post 11
is hollow inside to allow for the passage of power and signal cables as well as the
positioning of the terminal box and the fuses.
[0014] The lamppost 10 has a luminous set 12 at the top which, in the embodiment of figures
1 to 6, has a single optical passage 13, in correspondence of which an oblique plate
14 of transparent material is also to be found.
[0015] In figures 2 to 4 the encumbrance 71 of the foundations of the post 11 can also be
seen.
[0016] The single optical opening 13 is fixed to the post 11 by a system of screws 16 with
oblique bolts 15 and with stop-bolts 16', for fixing of a plate 15' for the connection
to the luminous body.
[0017] A second embodiment of the lamppost of the invention, indicated in its whole with
the reference numeral 20, is illustrated in figure 7.
[0018] In such an embodiment, the post 11 supports an optical luminous set 22, comprising
a double optical opening 23 and 24; the double optical opening 23 and 24 is associated
to a pair of vertical transparent plates 25 and 26; figure 8 also illustrates the
electrical power cable 27.
[0019] In order to create a post of 6 metres high or of multiples of 3 metres, the connection
of the post 11 comes about through the use of a glass connection pin or a steel or
steel/glass ring nut.
[0020] Connection between the pillar and the luminous body is represented in its various
forms of embodiment in figures 10 to 15.
[0021] In particular, figure 10 represents an exploded view of a detail of the first typology
of connection of the post 11 to the lamppost of the invention.
[0022] In such typology, a connection pin 33 consisting of a transparent material is inserted
within a first triangular prism 32, while a second triangular prism 31 abuts; the
first triangular prism 32 and the connection pin 33 are connected between themselves
by a first safety pin 34, while the second triangular prism 31 and the connection
pin 33 are connected between themselves by a second safety pin 35; such connections
will also become clear from the examination of the section of figure 11.
[0023] Figure 12 is an exploded view of a detail of the second typology of connection of
the post 11 of the lamppost.
[0024] In such typology, a connection ring nut 43 is inserted, through teeth 44, within
a first triangular prism 42, and through teeth 45, within a second triangular prism
41; such connections will become clear from the examination of the section of figure
13.
[0025] Figure 14 is an exploded view of a detail of the third typology of connection of
the post 11 to the lamppost.
[0026] In such typology, a connection ring nut 53 is fitted, through the use of a first
profile 55, into a first triangular prism 52, and through a second profile 54, onto
a second triangular prism 51; such connections will become clear from the examination
of the section in figure 15.
[0027] Figure 16 is a perspective view of a detail related to an inspection hole 61 for
access to the electrical components of the post of the lamppost of the invention;
furthermore, figure 17 is a section view, according to a surface perpendicular to
the longitudinal axis of the post, of the inspection hole 61, with electrical connections.
[0028] The post 11, with a triangular section, of the lamppost of the invention is designed
for heights from 6 metres to 10 metres and consists of sheets of layered glass.
[0029] Each face 17, 18 and 19 of the post 11 consists of a 3 metres long sheet, of a variable
thickness of temperit glass with a specific breaking load equal to 2,000 kg/cm2, an
elastic module equal to 730,000 kg/cm2 and a density of 2.5 t/m2.
[0030] In order to achieve the final thickness necessary, the sheets are welded to each
other with an electric arc with a sheet of plastic material interposed; for example,
in order to obtain a thickness equal to 2 cm of final thickness, seven sheets of 3
mm's each can be used each of which is interposed with five sheets of plastic material.
[0031] Three sheets which form the faces 17, 18 and 19 are in turn welded to obtain the
triangular post.
[0032] Figures 16 to 17 illustrate the realization of an inspection door 62; the rectangular
hole 61 on one side of the post 11 is reinforced at the edges with a steel frame.
[0033] Figure 17 also illustrates the system which permits the passage of electrical cables
63 within the post 11, through the provision of a hole 64, covered with a covering
element 65.
[0034] The lamppost 10 of the invention may also be formed by combining, supported by a
single post 11, in the upper part the illumination set 22 and in a slightly lower
position the illumination set 12.
[0035] From the description provided the features of the post for street lighting consisting
of a transparent material, subject of the present invention, are clear just as the
advantages are.
[0036] Finally, it is clear that numerous variants can be made to the post for street lighting
consisting of a transparent material, subject of the present invention, without leaving
behind the principles of novelty rooted within this inventive idea.
[0037] In the practical implementation of the invention, the materials, the shapes and the
dimensions of the details illustrated may be any at all according to requirements
and the same may be replaced with others which are technically equivalent.
