[0001] This invention concerns the WC seat mounting to the toilet bowls that seat mounting
cannot be performed, from lower face of the toilet bowl, by the help of butterfly
nuts. When the seat mounting holes are not accessible from lower face of the toilet
bowl for reasons of the design of the toilet bowl; the seat can not be mounted, if
the toilet bowl was permanently installed to the floor or the wall.
[0002] In prior art, by a
European Patent Application EP 1177756, a device for fixing the seat assembly of a toilet bowl is disclosed. The device
in
EP 1177756 cannot be fixed into seat mounting hole easily, due to the long slot on the oscillating
element, which causes the oscillating element moving or rotating with respect to the
stem, in an uncontrolled manner while installation.
[0003] Also, after installation of the device, which is disclosed in
EP 1177756, there exists a significant clearance between the stem and seat mounting hole. Even
if the oscillating element is firmly tightened between the nut and the lower face
of the seat mounting hole, the stem may slide or move inside the said hole. This event
results in that the seat can change its initial installed position on the toilet bowl.
[0004] The subject matter invention was developed to mount the seat to the toilet bowl whose
mounting holes are not accessible from lower face of the bowl. By the help of this
invention, the toilet seats can easily be fixed and firmly tightened to such toilet
bowls. In order to make the apparatus more user-friendly and to minimize the manufacturing
cost, it was designed as simple as possible and the number of parts that forms it
held in minimum. For example, a spring was not used to bring part (2) to horizontal
position, indeed this function is done by shaking the apparatus by hand after insertion
of it to hole (5) (Figure 1).
[0005] Another advantage of the subject matter invention is that the disclosed hinge mounting
apparatus for toilet seats is firmly fixed to the toilet bowls. And the said apparatus
and connected seat does not change its initial installed position on the toilet bowl.
[0006] After that point, this invention was explained more detailed by referring to the
figures in appendix.

[0007] The said hinge mounting apparatus is comprised with; a bell shaped designed part
(2), a cylindrical part (1), a hinge bolt (3) and a hinge body (4).
[0008] The bell shaped designed part (2) is formed from a piece of metal strip, having a
longitudinal slot, such that the strip is bended to provide a semi circular surface
in the mid region, and two planar surfaces a both end, of the strip. The two planar
surfaces have approximately equal areas and they lie on the same imaginary plane,
which is coincident with the longitudinal axis of the said semi circular surface and
the line, which is the intersection of one end of the semi circular surface and related
end of one of the said planar surface.
[0009] The cylindrical part (1) has a threaded thru hole whose longitudinal axis perpendicularly
intersects the mid point of longitudinal axis of the cylindrical part (1).
[0010] In order to mount the hinge mounting apparatus components to each other; firstly,
the hinge bolt (3) is inserted to the hole on the hinge body (4). Secondly, the hinge
bolt (3) is inserted to the slot on the bell shaped designed part (2) from convex
side of semi circular surface of the said part (2). Thirdly, the cylindrical part
(1) is mounted to the hinge bolt (3) from the threaded hole of the said part (1) and
then, the cylindrical part (1) is seated to the concave side of semi circular surface
of the bell shaped designed part (2).
[0011] In order to fix the hinge mounting apparatus to the seat mounting hole of toilet
bowl: as in figure 1, user inserts the bell shaped designed part (2), by tilting it,
that can move or rotate on cylindrical part (1) which is screwed to the hinge bolt
(3), to the seat mounting hole (5) on the toilet bowl.
[0012] Then, as in figure 2, the bell shaped designed part (2), which can be rotated on
part (1), becomes to horizontal position by shaking the hinge body (4) by hand. The
hinge bolt (3) is screwed as rotating it to clockwise with a screwdriver. Meanwhile,
the hinge body (4) is hold upward to prevent rotating of cylindrical part (1) and
the bell shaped designed part (2).
[0013] In figure 3, by tightening the hinge bolt (2) assembly is completed.
[0014] After fixing of the aparatus to the seat mounting hole, it is clear that the two
ends of the semi circular surface of the bell shaped designed part (2) rigidly seated
to the corner which is at the lower face of the the seat mounting hole. This type
of mounting prevents the the hinge bolt (3) (and connected seat) sliding or moving
in the seat mounting hole of the toilet bowl.
1. Hinge mounting apparatus, for the toilet bowls which are permanently installed to
the floor or the wall, providing the mounting of WC seats to the toilet bowls, in
case of the seat mounting holes are not accessible from lower face of the toilet bowl
for reasons of the design purpose,
and said hinge mounting apparatus comprising:
a cylindrical part (1),
a bell shaped designed part (2),
a hinge bolt (3),
a hinge body (4),
characterized in that
the bell shaped designed part (2)
- being formed from a piece of metal strip, having a longitudinal slot, such that
the strip is bended to provide a semi circular surface in its mid region, and two
planar surfaces at both end, of the strip;
- whose said two planar surfaces have approximately equal areas and lie on the same
imaginary plane, which is coincident with the longitudinal axis of the said semi circular
surface and the line, which is the intersection of one end of the semi circular surface
and related end of one of the said planar surface;
- whose two ends of the semi circular surface rigidly seated to the corner which is
at the lower face of the seat mounting hole, in order to prevent the hinge bolt (3)
and connected seat sliding or moving in the seat mounting hole of the toilet bowl.
2. Hinge mounting apparatus according to claim 1, characterized in that the cylindrical part (1) has a threaded thru hole whose longitudinal axis perpendicularly
intersects the mid point of longitudinal axis of the cylindrical part (1).
3. The method of fixing the hinge mounting apparatus to the seat mounting hole of toilet
bowl; according to claims 1 and 2,
characterized in that
- the bell shaped designed part (2) being inserted, by being tilted, that can move
or rotate on cylindrical part (1) which is screwed to the hinge bolt (3), to the seat
mounting hole (5) on the toilet bowl,
- the bell shaped designed part (2) being in a horizontal position, by shaking the
hinge body (4) or the apparatus by hand, after the insertion of bell shaped designed
part (2) with the cylindrical part (1) into the seat mounting hole (5),
- hinge bolt (3) being tightened while holding the hinge body (4) upward to prevent
rotating of the cylindrical part (1) and the bell shaped designed part (2).
1. Gelenkmontagevorrichtung für Toilettenschüsseln, die an einem Boden oder einer Wand
permanent installiert sind, zum Montieren von WC-Sitzflächen an den Toilettenschüsseln,
wenn die Sitzmontageöffnungen aus Konstruktionsgründen von der unteren Fläche der
Toilettenschüssel nicht zugänglich sind;
wobei die Gelenkmontagevorrichtung aufweist:
ein zylindrisches Teil (1);
ein glockenförmiges Teil (2);
einen Gelenkbolzen (3); und
einen Gelenkkörper (4);
dadurch gekennzeichnet, dass
das glockenförmige Teil (2) aus einem Metallstreifenelement mit einem Längsschlitz
hergestellt ist, wobei das Streifenelement derart gebogen ist, dass eine halbkreisförmige
Oberfläche in seinem Mittenabschnitt bereitgestellt wird, und wobei das Streifenelement
an beiden Enden zwei flache Flächen aufweist;
wobei die beiden flachen Flächen im Wesentlichen gleiche Flächenmaße haben und auf
der gleichen imaginären Ebene liegen, die mit der Längsachse der halbkreisförmigen
Oberfläche und mit einer Linie übereinstimmt, die einer Schnittlinie zwischen einem
Ende der halbkreisförmigen Oberfläche und dem damit in Beziehung stehenden Ende einer
der flachen Flächen entspricht; und
wobei die beiden Enden der halbkreisförmigen Oberfläche an einer an der unteren Fläche
der Sitzmontageöffnung angeordneten Ecke starr anliegt, um zu verhindern, dass der
Gelenkbolzen (3) und der damit verbundene Sitz in der Sitzmontageöffnung der Toilettenschüssel
gleiten oder sich bewegen.
2. Gelenkmontagevorrichtung nach Anspruch 1, dadurch gekennzeichnet, dass das zylindrische Teil (1) ein mit Gewinde versehenes Durchgangsloch aufweist, dessen
Längsachse den Mittelpunkt der Längsachse des zylindrischen Teils (1) senkrecht schneidet.
3. Verfahren zum Befestigen der Gelenkmontagevorrichtung an einer Sitzmontageöffnung
einer Toilettenschüssel nach Anspruch 1 und 2,
dadurch gekennzeichnet, dass
- das glockenförmige Teil (2), das sich auf dem am Gelenkbolzen (3) angeschraubten
zylindrischen Teil (1) bewegen oder drehen kann, schräg in die Sitzmontageöffnung
(5) auf der Toilettenschüssel eingeführt wird;
- das glockenförmige Teil (2) in einer horizontalen Position angeordnet wird, indem
der Gelenkkörper (4) oder die Vorrichtung von Hand geschüttelt wird, nachdem das glockenförmige
Teil (2) mit dem zylindrischen Teil (1) in die Sitzmontageöffnung (5) eingeführt wurde;
- der Gelenkbolzen (3) festgezogen wird, während der Gelenkbolzen (4) nach oben ausgerichtet
gehalten wird, um eine Drehbewegung des zylindrischen Teils (1) und des glockenförmigen
Teils (2) zu verhindern.
1. Dispositif de fixation de charnière pour cuvettes de toilettes installées en permanence
au sol ou à la paroi, assurant la fixation des lunettes de WC aux cuvettes des toilettes,
dans le cas où les alésages de fixation de la lunette ne sont pas accessibles depuis
le côté inférieur de la cuvette des toilettes pour des raisons propres à leur conception,
le dit dispositif de fixation de charnière comprenant:
une partie cylindrique (1),
une partie conçue en forme de cloche (2),
une cheville de charnière (3),
un corps de charnière (4),
caractérisé en ce que
la partie conçue en forme de cloche (2)
- étant formée à partir d'un élément de bande métallique, dotée d'une fente longitudinale
de façon à ce que la bande soit cintrée pour fournir une surface semi circulaire au
niveau de sa zone centrale, et deux surfaces planes aux deux extrémités de la bande;
- dont les deux dites surfaces planes ont environ la même superficie et reposent sur
le même plan imaginaire, lequel coïncide avec l'axe longitudinal de la surface semi
circulaire et la ligne qui est l'intersection d'une des extrémités de la surface semi
circulaire de la susmentionnée extrémité de la dite surface plane:
- dont les deux extrémités de la surface semi circulaire rigidement assises sur l'angle
qui est sur le côté inférieur de l'alésage de fixation de la lunette, de façon à éviter
la cheville de charnière (3) et que la lunette fixée ne glisse ou ne bouge sur l'alésage
de fixation de la lunette de la cuvette des toilettes.
2. Dispositif de fixation de charnière selon la revendication 1, caractérisé en ce que la partie cylindrique (1) a un trou passant fileté dont l'axe longitudinal a son
intersection perpendiculaire au centre de l'axe longitudinal de la partie cylindrique(1).
3. La méthode de montage du dispositif de fixation de charnière sur l'alésage de fixation
de la cuvette des toilettes; selon les revendications 1 et 2, est
caractérisée en ce que
- la partie conçue en forme de cloche(2) étant insérée, en inclination et pouvant
bouger ou tourner sur la partie cylindrique(1) qui est vissée à la cheville de charnière(3),
à l'alésage de fixation de la lunette(5) sur la cuvette des toilettes,
- la partie conçue en forme de cloche (2) étant en position horizontale, par agitation
du corps de charnière (4) ou du dispositif à la main, après insertion de la partie
conçue en forme de cloche (2) et de la partie cylindrique (1) dans l'alésage de fixation
de la lunette (5),
- la cheville de charnière (3) étant vissée tout en soutenant le corps de charnière
(4) vers le haut pour éviter la rotation de la partie cylindrique (1) et de la partie
conçue en forme de cloche (2).
