BACKGROUND OF THE INVENTION
1. Field of the Invention
[0001] The present invention relates storage racks and more particularly, to an environmentally
friendly combination storage rack.
2. Description of the Related Art
[0002] Regular storage racks for home use generally comprise a rack frame structure and
a plurality of storage boxes mounted in the rack frame structure. The rack frame structure
may be made of wood or a proper hard or rigid material, defining a plurality of open
chambers. The storage boxes are made of wood or a proper hard or rigid material in
the form of a solid sliding box for insertion into the open chambers in the rack frame
structure.
[0003] When a conventional storage rack is damaged, the rack frame structure and the storage
boxes cannot be reclaimed for further utilization. Further, the storage boxes of conventional
storage racks are not collapsible. When not in use, the user cannot reduce the dimensions
of the storage boxes. Further, the storage boxes are not detachable. It is inconvenient
to dispose off damaged storage boxes.
SUMMARY OF THE INVENTION
[0004] The present invention has been accomplished under the circumstances in view. It is
one object of the present invention to provide a combination storage rack, which is
detachable. It is another object of the present invention to provide a combination
storage rack, which is reclaimable when out of service.
[0005] To achieve these and other objects and according to one aspect of the present invention,
the combination storage rack is comprised of a rack and a plurality of storage boxes.
The rack and the storage boxes are made out of environmentally friendly materials.
The rack comprises a plurality of transverse sliding rails symmetrically disposed
therein at two sides and arranged in pairs at different elevations. The storage boxes
are insertable into the rack for storing things. Each storage boxes comprises a top
box frame, which is a rectangular open frame supportable on one pair of transverse
sliding rails in the rack and comprises a plurality of insertion holes cut through
top and bottom edges thereof and spaced along the four sides, a box body, which comprises
a plurality of eyelets disposed at the top side and respectively upwardly inserted
through the insertion holes of the top box frame, and a plurality of rod members respectively
inserted through the eyelets of the box body and supported on the top edge of the
top box frame to secure the box body to the top box frame.
[0006] According to another aspect of the present invention, the rack comprises two upright
side frames arranged in parallel, a horizontal top panel fixedly connected between
the upright side frames near the top side, and a horizontal bottom panel fixedly connected
between the upright side frames near the bottom side. Further, the transverse sliding
rails are respectively affixed to the upright side frames at different elevations
between the horizontal top panel and the horizontal bottom panel.
[0007] According to still another aspect of the present invention, the storage boxes are
made out of a flexible material, each comprising a hard bottom plate set in the associating
box body for bearing storage items.
[0008] According to still another aspect of the present invention, the top box frames of
each storage box has an endless groove formed in the top edge and adapted to accommodate
the associating rod members.

DETAILED DESCRIPTION OF THE INVENTION

invention is shown comprised of a rack

1. A combination storage rack comprising:
a rack, said rack comprising a plurality of transverse sliding rails symmetrically
disposed therein at two sides and arranged in pairs at different elevations; and
a plurality of storage boxes insertable into said rack for storing things, said storage
boxes each comprising a top box frame supportable on one pair of transverse sliding
rails in said rack, said top box frame being a rectangular open frame comprising a
plurality of insertion holes cut through top and bottom edges thereof and spaced along
four sides thereof, a box body fastened to said top box frame for holding things,
said box body comprising a plurality of eyelets disposed at a top side thereof and
respectively upwardly inserted through the insertion holes of said top box frame,
and a plurality of rod members respectively inserted through the eyelets of said box
body and supported on the top edge of said top box frame to secure said box body to
said top box frame.
2. The combination storage rack as claimed in claim 1, wherein said rack comprises two
upright side frames arranged in parallel, a horizontal top panel fixedly connected
between said upright side frames near a top side of said rack, and a horizontal bottom
panel fixedly connected between said upright side frames near a bottom side of said
rack; said transverse sliding rails are respectively affixed to said upright side
frames at different elevations between said horizontal top panel and said horizontal
bottom panel.
3. The combination storage rack as claimed in claim 1, wherein the box body of each of
said storage boxes is respectively made out of a flexible material.
4. The combination storage rack as claimed in claim 1, wherein said storage boxes each
further comprise a hard bottom plate set in the associating box body for bearing storage
items.
5. The combination storage rack as claimed in claim 1, wherein the top box frames of
said storage boxes each have an endless groove formed in the top edge and adapted
to accommodate the associating rod members.

1. A combination storage rack comprising
a rack (1), said rack comprising a plurality of transverse sliding rails (14) symmetrically
disposed therein at two sides and arranged in pairs at different elevations; and
a plurality of storage boxes (2) insertable into said rack (1) for storing things,
said storage boxes (2) each comprising a top box frame (21) supportable on one pair
of transverse sliding rails (14) in said rack (1), said top box frame (21) being a
rectangular open frame comprising a box body (22) fastened to said top box frame (21)
for holding things, said box body (22) comprising a plurality of eyelets (221) disposed
at a top side thereof and respectively upwardly inserted through the insertion holes
(212) of said top box frame (21), and a plurality of rod members (23) respectively
inserted through the eyelets (21) of said box body (22) and supported on the top edge
of said top box frame (21) to secure said box body (22) to said top box frame (21),
characterized by a plurality of insertion holes (212) cut through top and bottom edges of said top
box frame and spaced along four sides thereof, and by an endless groove (211) formed
in the top edge of the top box frame (21) adapted to accommodate the associating rod
members (23).
2. The combination storage rack as claimed in claim 1, wherein said rack comprises two
upright side frames (11) arranged in parallel, a horizontal to panel (12) fixedly
connected between said upright side frames (11) near a top side of said rack, and
horizontal bottom panel (13) fixedly connected between said upright side frames (11)
near a bottom side (13) of said rack (1); said transverse sliding rails (14) are respectively
affixed to said upright side frames (11) at different elevations between said horizontal
top panel (12) and said horizontal bottom panel (13).
3. The combination storage rack as claimed in claim 1, wherein the box body (22) of
each of said storage boxes (2) is respectively made out of a flexible material.
4. The combination storage rack as claimed in claim 1, wherein said storage boxes (2)
each further comprise and hard bottom plate (24) set in the associating box body (22)
for bearing storage items.
