Description

[0001] The object of the present utility model is a container for coins, essentially characterized in that it has a series of housings which permits, in addition to suitably housing the coins which are placed therein, keeping them grouped and conveniently classified both by quantity and by their dimensions and, consequently, by their value, the components of the container of the invention and the details of its configuration being described below.

[0002] Currently, and particularly in the domestic scope as well as in that of small businesses, suitable storage of numerous coins of differing values which are used daily is a clear problem that requires the use of bags, boxes or such like, being complicated, not only to keep them, but also to transport them, whether it is to make a payment or hand them in to a banking institution with the purpose of exchanging them for paper money, much more manageable in all aspects.

[0003] These drawbacks are sufficiently resolved with the use of the container object of the present invention, tool which, in addition to permitting one to keep the coins which are deposited therein safe, permits these coins contained therein to be immediately classified, facilitating the subsequent placement thereof, in pre-set quantities, in the well-known wrappers used by banking institutions, called "blisters", single-use cartridges of plastic and transparent material.

[0004] The use of the container, for its double function of container and coin classifier, also permits a practical application as a decorative element, mainly in its domestic use, given the special characteristics of the materials which can be used in the manufacturing of the container, preferably transparent methacrylate, which permits the observation of the content in its interior.

[0005] With the purpose of describing the object of this invention, drawings have been attached wherein a container has been represented as a practical example of embodiment.

[0006] In said drawings,
fig. 1
is an elevational view of the body or base of the container, partially cross-sectioned, according to the reference AB, at a 90° angle;
fig. 2
is the corresponding plan view of the container, according to the previous figure;
fig. 3
is an elevational view, semi cross-sectioned, of the circular lid of the container;
fig. 4
is the plan view of the lid, according to the previous figure;
fig. 5
is an illustrative view of the use of the container, showing a perspective view of the placement of a coin in the interior thereof; and
fig. 6
finally, also shows a perspective view of the illustrative action of the recovery of the coins from the interior of the container.

[0007] The object of the invention is constituted by a body -1-, preferably of cylindrical shape, mainly manufactured from methacrylate, material of transparent texture, provided with a series of vertical cylindrical drill holes -2-, disposed axially and parallel between each other, of different diameters, according to the type of coins that are deposited in its interior. All of these cylindrical drill holes -2- are positioned with their centres situated over an imaginary circular line -3- defined on the base of the body -1-.

[0008] The depth of each one of the aforementioned drill holes -2- is defined by the quantity of coins -4- that it can contain, quantity directly related to the capacity of the "blister" or cartridge used in the banking institutions. Thus, according to the type and diameter of the coin -4- and the quantity thereof which are to be subsequently deposited in the "blisters", the diameter of the drill hole -2-, as well as its depth, will vary.

[0009] The object of this invention is completed by a circular lid -5-, of a diameter equal to that of the body -1-, in the event that this is cylindrical, manufactured preferably from methacrylate, although it can be manufactured from another type of rigid material. This lid -5- has a cylindrical stub -6- on its lower face, which fits into the corresponding hollow, also cylindrical and of identical diameter, -7- situated in the axial centre of the upper face of the body -1-. The lid -5- placed on the upper face of the body -1- with its stub -6- duly positioned, said lid can turn in any direction on the aforementioned body -1-.

[0010] Obviously, the stub -6- can be substituted by any other system which will permit the turning of the lid -5-.

[0011] The lid has a circular orifice -8-, of equal diameter to that of the drill hole -2- with the largest diameter, whose centre is positioned in perfect coincidence with the aforementioned imaginary circular line -3- aligned with the centre of the cylindrical drill holes -2- of the base -1-, so that upon turning the lid -5- this orifice -8- can be situated in perfect coincidence over one of the drill holes -2-, permitting access to the interior of that which the aforementioned orifice -8- has been situated over, with the purpose of inserting or removing coins -4-, as clearly illustrated in figures 5 and 6.

[0012] Given that the lid -5- is simply situated on the upper face of the body -1-, this being in its normal vertical position, according to fig. 5, there will be no problems in carrying out the turning of the aforementioned lid -5- to make it coincide with its orifice - 8- over the desired drill hole -8-. Nevertheless, and this is reflected in fig. 6, when one wishes to remove coins -4- from the corresponding drill hole -2-, the user will hold the lid -5- in the required position, in order to prevent the detachment thereof and coins from accidentally falling out.

[0013] It should be indicated that the practical embodiment of the container object of this invention can feature different variations regarding the vertical cylindrical drill holes -2-, being of different diameters to contain groups of coins -4- also of different diameters, or in its most special configuration, having all of the drill holes -2- with the same diameter, to contain the same type of coins -4- in all of them, and amongst these embodiments, all of the intermediate variants in diameter which can be repeated and required.

[0014] Finally, it is also indicated, as variants of embodiment, and as has been indicated, the presentation of the body -1- in prismatic shape, with its lateral surface disposed with the faces corresponding to the prism chosen, featuring in these variants the lid -5- with its circular contour or with identical prismatic contour, always making it possible to turn it as has been previously described.

[0015] The characteristics of the container for coins object of the present invention having been sufficiently described, it must be indicated that any variation in dimensions, shapes, finishing, as well as type of material used in the practical embodiment, do not alter the essentiality thereof in any way, being summed up in the following claims.
