OBJECT OF THE INVENTION
[0001] The present invention consists of a shower partition designed to provide a two piece
partition which prevents water from leaking from the shower area without any need
to use sealing materials such as silicone, metal strips or similar.
[0002] Due to its special configuration, the manufacture, transport and installation of
the partition is simplified and the possibility of breakage is reduced.
[0003] The shower partition comprises two vertical parallel parts one on top of the other
separated a specific distance in the horizontal.
[0004] In addition, the device has a wall connection element which also acts as a stiffener,
in addition to connection profiles of the two parts which give consistency to the
partition and enable them to be assembled.
BACKGROUND TO THE INVENTION
[0005] Currently, a number of shower partitions are known characterised in that they consist
of a single part.
[0006] One such is utility model with publication number
ES1025866U which describes a shower partition divided into three blocks of panes which incorporate
a hermetic closing system where the water passes between its free ends by means of
a lateral strip of magnetic plating. In addition, it is provided with an articulation
system between two panes of one of the blocks, specifically the right hand one, bringing
the pane as close as possible to the other in order to leave a free passage, or either
closing, by the extension of both.
[0007] Finally, it incorporates a panel system in each of the ends of both blocks of panes,
with respect to a fixed profile on the bathroom wall.
[0008] Another Utility model is also known with publication number
ES22185120 which describes a shower cabin with a door opening outwards for emergencies.
[0009] This embodiment is characterised in that it includes at least one wall in which there
is a passage for the user's entry and exit, with said passage being defined by means
of lateral vertical uprights and at least one transversal rod.
[0010] US-A-2005/0188459 is regarded as representing the closest prior art with respect to the present invention.
[0011] The improvements incorporated in this invention make it advantageous in comparison
to other partitions. Firstly, it differs due to the fact of its two part modular form
which greatly facilitates the work of manufacture and logistics. The fact that it
is made from two parts and not one single large part ensures that the packing, transport
and access to the home is simple.
[0012] In addition, the fact that the shower partition is provided with two vertical parallel
parts on top of one another separated a specific distance horizontally, facilitates
the flow of water to the interior of the shower plate and therefore it barely touches
the lower part, thus preventing water from leaking out of the main area without any
need to use sealing materials such as silicone, metallic strips or similar.
DESCRIPTION OF THE INVENTION
[0013] The invention which is the subject of this application refers to a two part shower
partition which is adapted to wide shower areas by substitution of baths with large
shower plates.
[0014] The structure of this partition consists of two vertical parts, one upper and one
lower part, parallel and one on top of the other, and separated a specific distance
so that they form a partition of sufficient dimensions to cover one side of the shower,
so that the upper part is closer to a wall, parallel to the partition and on the opposite
side of the shower, than is the lower part..
[0015] As a means of connection, as well as that of stiffener, the shower has a profile
which joins both parts and which is fixed at its ends to the upper and lower part
respectively.
[0016] In addition, there may be another profile placed transversally to the aforementioned
said profile and which is preferably used as a towel rail.
[0017] Finally, another characterising element of this utility model is a distancing element
which is situated between the upper part and the wall opposite the partition.
DESCRIPTION OF THE DRAWINGS
[0018] The present descriptive report is supplemented by a series of drawings illustrative
of a preferred embodiment but not, however, restricting the invention in any way.
[0019] Figure 1 shows a perspective view of an embodiment of the invention which shows the
structure comprising two upper and lower parts joined by a stiffening element.
[0020] Figure 2 shows a perspective view of the entire grouping of partition, shower plate
and walls.
PREFERRED EMBODIMENT OF THE INVENTION
[0021] In the light of the foregoing description, the present invention consists of a shower
partition (1) in two vertical parts (2,3) which prevent water from leaking out of
the main zone without any need to use sealing materials such as silicone, metal strips
or similar.
[0022] This preferred embodiment is based on figure 1 and figure 2 and consists of a shower
partition (1) in two parts (2, 3), one upper part (2) and another lower part (3).The
partition (1) is arranged in a manner parallel to a wall (7) and perpendicular to
another (8) forming a cubicle with these and leaving an open side to enable access.
[0023] The two vertical parts(2,3) which have the same measurements are placed parallel
one on top of another and separated a specific distance in the horizontal with the
upper part (2) remaining closer to the' wall (7) in respect of which it is parallel
to the lower part (3).
[0024] The partition (1) presents a stiffening element (4) which is a "U" shaped profile
arranged vertically and which joins both vertical parts (2, 3). This stiffening element
(4) is situated in the external part of the partition (1), in the mid section of said
part (1) and close to the zone through which the shower is accessed.
[0025] In addition, transversal to the stiffening element (4) another profile (5) is situated
in "U" shape and acts as a towel rail. In the upper right end of the upper part of
the partition (1) a distancing element (6) is situated. This reaches the wall (7)
in respect of which the partition (1) is parallel to the whole structure.
1. Shower partition (1) comprising two parts characterised in that it consists of two vertical parts (2,3) one upper part (2) and another lower part
(3), parallel and one on top of the other, and separated in a horizontal direction
so that the upper part (2) is closer to a wall (7), parallel to the partition (1)
and on the opposite side of the shower, than is the lower part (3).
2. Shower partition (1) according to claim 1 characterised in that the upper (2) and lower (3) parts are equal.
3. Shower partition (1) according to claim 1 characterised in that the connection medium presents a profile or stiffening element (4) which joins both
parts (2,3) and which is attached by its ends to the upper (2) and lower (3) parts
respectively.
4. Shower partition (1) according to claim 1 characterised in that a distancing element (6) is situated between the upper part (2) and the wall (7)
opposite the partition (1) .
5. Shower partition according to claim 3, characterised by the presence of a profile (5) placed transversally to the stiffening element (4).
6. Shower partition (according to claim 5 characterised in that the profile (5) acts as a towel rail.
