Description

OBJECT OF THE INVENTION

[0001] The present invention relates to a mop head for mops, of the type constituted by a plurality of cords fixed over a head to which the corresponding stick or elongated handle of the mop is fixed. It also relates to the manufacturing method of the mop head.

[0002] The object of the present invention is to attain the mop head to materialize by means of a single zig-zag folded cord in order to prevent the classic cord ends and therefore preventing the fraying which often occurs at the ends.

[0003] The present invention is characterized by the special configuration and design of the mop head, such that they allow obtaining a more lasting and effective mop head.

[0004] Therefore, the present invention is circumscribed within the field of the mop heads for mops, as well as the manufacturing field of said mop heads.

BACKGROUND OF THE INVENTION

[0005] Although there are many types of mop heads, concerning the practical materialization thereof, one of the most utilized solutions is that wherein the mop head is constituted by a plurality of cords of textile and absorbent nature, the length of which is twice the mop head height, so that the cords are fixed by their middle area and folded over themselves, which fixing is performed over a head with the aid of a fork-like piece, with an extensive surface provided with projections and two end pins with spears, such that the cords are placed through their middle area on that piece, namely between the pins with spears, and the assembly is mounted on the corresponding head by introducing the pins of the fastening piece into the windows or holes established for that purpose in said head, thus establishing the interlocking of the spears of those pins and therefore the fixing of the cords group over the mop head which head has, on the other hand, a neck at its opposite end for inserting the elongated handle of the mop.

[0006] The problem that this type of mop head presents is that the cuts of the cords are in the free end of the mop head and tend to be frayed with the use, whereby the pot life is less than desired.

[0007] On the other hand, another difficulty in the currently known mop heads is the uneven distribution of the cords on the surface, being generally grouped in one single area, depending on the displacement and movement given to the mop, therefore the mop is forced to continuous variations and positionins with the object of the cords getting to and reaching the entire surface to be cleaned.

[0008] Therefore, it is an object of the present invention, first to develop a mop head wherein the cords do not fray with time, improving the pot life of the mop head, which additionally has the necessary means in order to attain maintaining an even and continuous distribution of the mop head cords during the use of the mop head of the mop.

DESCRIPTION OF THE INVENTION

[0009] The object of the invention is a mop head which has been conceived to solve the aforementioned problems, on the basis of a simple but highly effective solution, as the mop head in question is obtained by means of a single cord being folded in zig-zag and which at the end is fixed by its middle area just like the standard mop heads, but with the particularity of not leaving cut tips, but loops that can not be frayed, by having uncut ends.

[0010] In other words, the manufacturing method of the mop head is carried out by means of the following stages. Starting from at least one cord, this one is arranged in a zig-zag shape forming a series of closed loops, such that once the arrangement of the entire zig-zag-shaped cord length is finished, the hank formed is fixed at its middle, whereby closed loops emerge at both ends of the central fixing, leaving no free end susceptible to be frayed.

[0011] Next, a fixing piece which has some end spears is arranged on the central fixing of the zig-zag-shaped cord hank, for fixing it to the head of the mop, such that the formed closed loops are emerging.

[0012] With the object of achieving maintaining an even distribution of the loops during the mop head life, a cord is fixed on the loops, which fixing is arranged towards the middle of the length of the formed loops, like a central ring. Therefore, the loops do not tend to joint or group together achieving a radial distribution of all loops covering the entire circular surface occupied by them.

[0013] On the other hand, it has been envisaged that the mop head is susceptible to be marketed in a package with two different color schemes in order to being able to apply it to different uses, which package will be formed by a pouch of clear nature through which the mop head color schemes are logically seen and thus acquiring the one that is well suited, according to the color schemes, to the use that it will be destined for.

DESCRIPTION OF THE DRAWINGS

[0014] In order to complement the description to be made below and with the object of helping to a better understanding of the features of the invention, according to one preferred example of practical embodiment thereof, a set of drawings is accompanied as an integral part of said description, wherein with illustrative but not limiting character, the following has been represented:

Figure 1. - Shows a view corresponding to the zig-zag folded cord, from which the mop head of the invention is obtained.

Figure 2. - Shows the fastening at the intermediate area of the assembly represented in the previous figure, for its application on the corresponding fastening piece.

Figure 3. - Shows a perspective view of the cord arrangement over the piece to be coupled on the head for fastening the mop head as such formed by said cord.

Figure 4. - Shows a perspective view of the shape that has the cord or cords on the head of the mop, forming loops, i.e., without cut ends.

Figure 5. - Shows a plant representation of the mop head object of the invention, in a complementary embodiment, wherein a circular cord has been fixed toward the middle of the length of each one of the cords.

Figure 6. - Shows a representation of the previous bottom view allowing appreciating how the cord or ribbon is fixed on each one of the cords.

PREFERRED EMBODIMENT OF THE INVENTION

[0015] In view of the figures, a preferred mode of embodiment of the proposed invention is now described.

[0016] As can be seen in the referred figures, the mop head for mops object of the invention is obtained from one or even more cords (1), zig-zag folded in all cases, as can be seen in figure 1, such that they are embraced together by at least one fabric ring or band (2) through their middle length, resulting in that the ends of the assembly form loops (3) thus lacking of cut ends as traditionally occurs.

[0017] Once housed by the intermediate area, this zig-zag cord assembly (1), is arranged over a piece (4) provided with pins (5) with end spears, being the assembly (1) located between these pins (5) and positioned by its middle area in the piece (4) itself, being fastened through the emerging addendums from the surface of that piece, all of it such that, through the pins (5), the assembly is mounted on a head (6) containing respective windows for passing the pins (5) and interlocking thereon the spears that have such pins (5), being the mop head assembly such as represented in figure 4, wherein there are no ends but loops (3) without cuts, which will prevent the fraying of the mop head.

[0018] This head (6) will have the corresponding neck (7) for coupling the respective stick or elongated handle of the mop.

[0019] Finally, it is to say that the zig-zag folded assembly (1) with the band (2) embracing it by the intermediate area, will be able to be marketed in a package or pouch, with two different color schemes in order to being able to apply it to different uses, which package or pouch will preferably be of clear nature in order to be able to observe these color schemes and utilize the specific respective mop head for the intended use.

[0020] In figure 5, an embodiment complementary to the previous one is showed, wherein in addition to arranging the at least one cord which the mop head has, such that it forms a series of closed loops (3), which do not leave any free end, a cord or ribbon (8), which is fixed to the loops (3) is arranged once all the loops (3) covering a circular area have been radially extended and arranged.

[0021] The ribbon or cord (8) is fixed to the middle of the length of the loops (3), with the object of facilitating fixing the ribbon or cord (8) to the loops (3), and also further leaving enough free length of the loops (3), which although will have some mobility, ensure covering a circular surface.

[0022] This ribbon or cord (8) allows ensuring the even radial distribution of the loops (3), such that they occupy the entire circular surface that can cover, which results in that the surface covered by the mop head with each mopping is much larger that the surface sweeped by the mop head as it has been done until now.

[0023] The fixing means of the ribbon or cord (8) on the loops (3) can be any among the known ones, which can go from the fixing by sewing, such as it is shown in figure 6, gluing, bonding, or by passing the cords throughout some eyelets which the ribbon or cord (8) would have.

[0024] In figure 6, the opposite face of the mop head is shown, wherein the backstitches (9) of the ribbon or cord (8) sewing are appreciated, and which serve for fixing said ribbon or cord (8).

[0025] The variations on the materials, form, size and arrangement of the composing elements, described in a non limiting manner, do not disrupt the essentiality of this invention, this being enough for its reproduction by a skilled person.
