(57) The present invention relates to a method of treating a liquefied natural gas (LNG) stream (10), the method at least comprising the steps of:
(a) supplying a stream (10) comprising LNG as at least two separate streams (80,90) to a vessel (2) comprising a contacting zone (3), a first stream (80) being fed above the contacting zone (3) and a second stream (90) being fed below the contacting zone (3);
(b) supplying a stream (20) comprising an inert fluid to the vessel (2);
(c) contacting at least the first stream (80) supplied in step (a) with the stream (20) supplied in step (b) in the contacting zone (3), thereby obtaining an LNG stream being enriched in inert fluid; and
(d) removing the LNG stream (30) obtained in step (c) from the vessel (2).
