[Technical Field]
[0001] The present invention relates to a beverage and liquor container, and more particularly,
to a beverage and liquor container that allows a body containing a beverage or liquor
therein and a lip covering the body to be inversely coupled to each other, thus being
used as a cup or glass.
[Background Art]
[0002] Generally, beverage and liquor containers mean the containers in which contents like
beverages or liquor are contained.
[0003] The beverage and liquor containers have various shapes in accordance with the kinds
of the contents to be contained therein.
[0004] As shown in FIG.1, the beverage and liquor container generally has a body 10 into
which contents are filled and a lid 20 closing the body 10.
[0005] In this case, if the contents filled in the body 10 are all consumed, the beverage
and liquor container is thrown away and treated as waste.
[0006] So as to remove the above-mentioned problem, accordingly, Korean Utility Model Publication
No.
1994-9921 has propose a recyclable container.
[0007] In this case, the recyclable container includes a lip, a body, and a lower cover
supporting the body.
[0008] Further, the body has a groove for cutting.
[0009] If the contents filled in the container are all consumed, the lower cover disposed
on the lower end periphery of the container is separated and the body is cut. Next,
the top portion of the body cut is closed by the lid, and the separated lower cover
is coupled to the intermediate portion of the body, thus being used as a cup.
[0010] As a result, the conventional recyclable container may be advantageously recycled,
but the cut lower side of the body should be just treated as waste.
[0011] In case of the conventional recyclable container, besides, the cut line should be
formed on one side of the container, and the bottom plate of the container has to
be inconveniently separated from the container. Furthermore, the inside of the bottom
plate should be melted by heat so as to form a shape of a cup, thus making it hard
to be utilized in practical use.

[Mode for Invention]
[0018] Hereinafter, an explanation on a beverage and liquor container according to preferred
embodiments of the present invention will be in detail given with reference to the
attached drawings.
[0019] FIGS.2A and 2B are perspective and exploded perspective views showing a beverage
and liquor container according to a first embodiment of the present invention, and
FIG.3 is a perspective view showing the transformed state of the beverage and liquor
container according to the first embodiment of the present invention.
[0020] As shown, a beverage and liquor container according to a first embodiment of the
present invention largely includes a body 1 containing contents therein and a lid
2 closing the body 1.
[0021] According to the present invention, the body 1 is shaped like a funnel with an open
upper portion having a large inner diameter and a closed lower portion having an inner
diameter gradually decreased as it goes downwardly, and further, the body 1 has a
first connection part 1 a formed at either an inner peripheral surface or an outer
peripheral surface of the lower portion thereof. The lid 2 has a second connection
part 2a formed at either an inner peripheral surface or an outer peripheral surface
of the center thereof in such a manner as to be connected to the first connection
part 1 a.
[0022] The first connection part 1 and the second connection part 2a are screw-coupled to
each other, but they may be coupled to each other by means of press-fitting or other
ways.
[0023] The body 1 and the lid 2 are made of various materials such as glass, plastic, paper
and the like.
[0024] The lid 2 of the present invention has a relatively larger outer diameter than conventional
lids, and desirably, the outer diameter of the lid 2 is similar to the large outer
diameter of the body 1.
[0025] When the lid 2 closes the body 1 in the state where a beverage or liquor is contained
in the body 1, the beverage or liquor container has a general container shape, but
if the lid 2 is open and connected to the underside of the body 1, that is, if the
first connection part 1a and the second connection part 2a are fastened to each other,
the container has a shape of a cup. Especially, the container may have a shape of
a wine glass according to the shapes of the body 1 and the lid 2.
[0026] The lid 2 serves as a cap if it closes the body 2 and as a base if used for drinking
or recycled after open.
[0027] Particularly, the beverage and liquor container according to the present invention
can be used to allow the beverage or liquor to be drunk, and further, the container
can be transformed to a shape of a cup, thus removing the inconveniences occurring
when the portable beverage or liquor is drunk.
[0028] In more detail, generally, since the portable beverage or liquor has a small quantity,
it can be all consumed one time. Desirably, the quantity of the beverage or liquor
contained in the container can become the quantity of the beverage or liquor (for
example, Soju as distilled liquor, wine, beer or raw rice wine) contained in one cup
or glass, and therefore, the beverage and liquor container of the present invention
can be applied to a variety of uses.
[0029] Next, an explanation on the process for using the beverage and liquor container of
the present invention will be given.
[0030] First, an example of recycling the beverage and liquor container according to the
present invention will be described.
[0031] The beverage and liquor container of the present invention is distributed to the
market in the state where the body 1 contains beverage, liquor or liquid food therein
and the lip 2 closes the body 1.
[0032] In this state, the beverage or liquor is generally drunk after the lid 2 is separated
from the body 1.
[0033] In the state where the beverage or liquor contained in the body 1 is consumed, the
second connection part 2a formed at the center of the lid 2 is coupled to the first
connection part 1 a formed on the lower periphery of the body 1.
[0034] If the lid 2 is coupled to the body 1, as shown in FIG.3, the lid 2 serves as a base,
and the body 1 serves as a cup or glass.
[0035] After the use as the beverage and liquor container, accordingly, the body 1 and the
lid 2 of the container are coupled to each other, so that the beverage and liquor
container can be used as a cup or glass, thus being extended in the use range thereof
and preventing waste from being produced.
[0036] Second, an example of transforming the beverage and liquor container according to
the present invention into a cup and allowing the beverage or liquor to be drunk by
the cup will be described.
[0037] The beverage and liquor container of the present invention is distributed to the
market in the state where the body 1 contains beverage, liquor or liquid food therein
and the lip 2 closes the body 1.
[0038] In this state, the lid 2 is separated from the body 1. At this time, the lid 2 is
open to allow the open portion to be located up, so that the beverage or liquor is
still contained in the body 1.
[0039] Next, the second connection part 2a of the lid 2 open is coupled to the first connection
part 1 a formed on the lower periphery of the body 1.
[0040] As shown in FIG.3, this state means that the beverage or liquor is contained in the
body 1 and the lid 2 serves as a base, so that the container can be used as a cup
for providing the beverage or liquor in the state of being placed on all places like
a table and so on.
[0041] Further, the body 1 and the lid 2 have a cylindrical shape, but they may have a polygonal
shape. If they have the polygonal shape, the body 1 has a shape of a funnel with a
width gradually decreased toward the lower end portion thereof, and the first connection
part 1a is formed on the lower end portion of the body 1 and connected to the second
connection part 2a of the lid 2.
[0042] FIGS.4A to 4D are longitudinal sectional views showing a beverage and liquor container
according to a second embodiment of the present invention.
[0043] As shown in FIGS.4A to 4D, a beverage and liquor container according to a second
embodiment of the present invention includes a body 11, a lid 12, a sealing member
13 and a sealing material 14. The sealing material 14 may be applicable to the container
as shown in FIGS.2A to 3.
[0044] FIG.4A shows an exploded view of the beverage and liquor container according to the
second embodiment of the present invention, FIG.4B shows the coupled state thereof,
FIG.4C shows the state wherein after the lid 12 is open and coupled to the opposite
side thereto, the container is turned over, and FIG.4D shows the state wherein the
sealing material 14 is taken off to drink the beverage or liquor.
[0045] The beverage and liquor container according to the second embodiment of the present
invention has the same structure and function as that as shown in FIGS.2A to 3, excepting
that the portion with the small width on the body 11 is completely closed by means
of the sealing member 13.
[0046] This is because the existing facilities used for producing the beverage or liquor
can be used without any change. Generally, beverage or liquor is filled toward the
portion having a small width of the container in the state where the portion having
a large width of the container is placed on the floor, but contrarily, the entrance
of the container according to the present invention has a large width. So as to utilize
the existing facilities, without any change, the beverage or liquor is filled not
into the entrance of the container of the present invention, but into the opposite
side to the entrance, and then, the portion through which the beverage or liquor has
been filled is completely closed by means of the sealing member 13.
[0047] As shown in FIG.4A, the sealing material 14 is bonded to the body 11 and coupled
to the lid 12, and after that, the beverage or liquor is filled into the body 11.
Next, the sealing member 13 is coupled to the body 11, thus making a finished product
closed completely. The finished product is as shown in FIG.4B.
[0048] The finished product as shown in FIG.4B is provided and sold, and the lid 12 is open
in the state where the body 11 is in the state as shown in FIG.4B or the body 11 is
turned over. Next, the second connection part 12a of the lid 12 is fastened to the
first connection part 11a of the body 11. This becomes the state as shown in FIG.4C.
At this state, the container becomes the state of being usable as a cup.
[0049] After that, the sealing material 14 is taken off from the body 11, and the container
becomes a shape of a cup into which the beverage or liquor is contained.
[0050] FIG.5 is a sectional view showing the structures of first and second connection parts
of the beverage and liquor container according to the present invention.
[0051] As shown in FIG.5, the second connection part 12a of the lid 12 and the first connection
part 11a of the body 11 are coupled to each other by means of screw-tap coupling as
shown in FIGS.2A to 3, and further, they are fastened to each other by means of press-fitting
(projection locking) through the formation of a protruding portion 11 b and a depressed
portion 12b. In the same manner as above, the press-fitting coupling can be applied
to that as shown in FIGS.2A to 3.
[0052] FIG.6 is a top view showing the beverage and liquor container having various shapes
according to the present invention.
[0053] As shown in FIG.6, the beverage and liquor container according to the present invention
may have various sectional shapes such as circle, triangle, square, hexagon, and polygon.
[0054] While the present invention has been described with reference to the particular illustrative
embodiments, it is not to be restricted by the embodiment but only by the appended
claims. It is to be appreciated that those skilled in the art can change or modify
the embodiments without departing from the scope and spirit of the present invention.
