[0001] The present invention refers to a decorative structure having three-dimensional properties
and to a process for manufacturing such structure.
[0002] The above decorative structure has aesthetic features, which are made more suggestive
by possible high-relief effects.
[0003] The present decorative structure is different from traditional structures in that
it is used to show high-relief objects, people and landscapes, and can be made in
a simple way and with beautiful aesthetic effects.
[0004] In particular, the present decorative structure provides for the use of panels on
which fabrics, fabric garments with various shapes and nature, or non-woven fabrics
can be applied, which are preferably decorated and reproducing various types of images.
[0005] Alternatively, sheets or films made of other materials could be applied onto such
panels or supporting elements, on which various types of images and/or landscapes
can be reproduced.
[0006] The present decorative structure is different from any other pictorial representation,
in that the same provides for the use of supporting panels on which fabrics, fabric
garments or other products made of fabric or non-woven fabric can be applied, which
are preferably decorated and can be applied on the base panel, in order to show a
plane shape or a plane with drapings or with high-relief parts, which make the related
configurations particularly characteristic and suggestive.
[0007] Everything is then finally fastened onto the panel through impregnating with various
species of resins on the fabric material or on the non-woven fabric or on suitably
decorated paper or cardboard.
[0008] In particular, it is provided to use epoxy resins or ureic resins or polyvinyl resins
or other types of resins, which are adapted to be dried by using suitable catalysts.
[0009] Object of the present invention is solving the above prior-art problems, by providing
a decorative structure which is used to show high-relief objects, people and landscapes,
and can be made in a simple way and with beautiful aesthetic effects.
[0010] Another object of the present invention is providing a simple and effective process
for manufacturing the above decorative structure.
[0011] The above and other objects and advantages of the invention, as will appear from
the following description, are obtained with a decorative structure and its related
manufacturing process as claimed in the respective independent claims. Preferred embodiments
and non-trivial variations of the present invention are claimed in the dependent claims.
[0012] It is intended that all enclosed claims are an integral part of the present disclosure.
[0013] The present invention will be better described by some preferred embodiments thereof,
given as a non-limiting example, with reference to the enclosed drawings, in which:
- Figure 1 shows a panel, a sports shirt and two characters, seen separately;
- Figure 2 shows the decorative structure on which the shirt is applied with the two
characters after the resin coating of such composing elements in order to make a finished
decorative structure;
- Figures 3 to 6 show various configurations of people and/or objects, on which a layer
of resin is finally applied, whose function is conferring, to the chosen representation,
a stable attitude, thereby composing a decorative structure.
[0014] It will be immediately obvious that numerous variations and modifications (for example
related to shape, sizes, arrangements and parts with equivalent functionality) could
be made to what is described, without departing from the scope of the invention as
appears from the enclosed claims.
[0015] With particular reference to the numeric symbols of the various attached figures,
the subject matter of the present invention is firstly composed of a decorative structure
5 comprising a panel 1, on which a shirt 2 or a piece of clothing or an object 2 is
applied, preferably made of textile material or of non-woven fabric or a suitably
decorated film of paper or cardboard.
[0016] It is thereby provided to apply onto such panel 1 one or more decorative objects
2, made of paper, cardboard, fabrics or non-woven fabrics in general, creating a decorative
element adapted to show bends and three-dimensional relief motifs 3.
[0017] These latter ones are afterwards impregnated with a layer 4 of various types of resins,
preferably transparent, in order to allow a perfect display of the below object 2
applied onto the panel 1.
[0018] Such resins 4 can be epoxy or ureic or polyvinyl resins or other types of resins,
and their function is preserving and protecting the below objects 2, conferring them
a suitable stiffness and endurance in time.
[0019] The layer 4 of resins with which the various objects 2 made of decorated fabric or
non-woven fabric or paper or cardboard are impregnated, allows preserving the decorative
structure 5 from humidity and sun rays, ensuring a long endurance for this latter
one.
[0020] Summarising, the invention deals with a decorative structure 5 comprising at least
one supporting panel 1 having applied thereon one or more objects 2, these objects
2 being made of fabric, or fabric garments, or non-woven fabrics, or films made of
paper or cardboard; these objects 2 are impregnated with at least one layer 4 of resins
in order to transform the objects 2 into decorative elements 3 with three-dimensional
bends and motifs. The layer 4 of resins also operates as protection layer for the
decorative elements 3, conferring the decorative elements 3 a suitable stiffness and
endurance.
[0021] Preferably, the decorative elements 3 are applied onto the panel 1 using resins,
which could be of the same type or of different types with respect to the above resins.
[0022] In particular, but not in a limiting way, the used resins can be epoxy resins, or
ureic resins, or polyvinyl resins, and are adapted to be dried using catalysts.
[0023] Moreover, the resins can be transparent resins in order to show the objects 2 below
them.
[0024] The above objects 2 can be decorated or be reproducing various types of images.
[0025] According to another aspect of the present invention, the above decorative structure
5 can be manufactured through a process, which comprises the steps of:
- providing at least one supporting panel 1;
- providing one or more objects 2, which are made of fabric, or fabric garments, or
non-woven fabrics, or films made of paper or cardboard;
- impregnating the above objects 2 with at least one layer of resins, in order to transform
the objects 2 into decorative elements 3 with three-dimensional bends and motives;
and
- applying the decorative elements 3 onto the one or more panels 1.
[0026] Preferably, the decorative elements 3 are applied onto the panel 1 using resins,
which could be of the same type or of different types with respect to the above resins.
[0027] Moreover, the above resins can be epoxy resins, or ureic resins, or polyvinyl resins,
and are adapted to be dried using catalysts.
[0028] The resins can also be transparent resins in order to show the objects 2 below them.
[0029] Finally, the one or more objects 2 can be decorated or be reproducing various types
of images.
