[0001] The present invention relates to an oven comprising a support unit which is mounted
to the side walls for carrying the trays wherein the ingredients to be cooked are
placed.
[0002] In ovens, support units are used which are mounted to the side walls for arranging
the trays one above the other and spaced apart inside the cooking cavity. A multitude
of parts need to be used for mounting the support units inside the oven with sufficient
durability and to be mounted and dismounted by the user thereby increasing the production
costs of the oven. Moreover, the user is confronted with difficulties when trying
to take the said support units out of the oven for cleaning purposes and mounting
in the oven again without using auxiliary tools, and a convenience of use cannot be
provided.
[0003] In the United States of America Patent Application No
US2005172830, in a cooking appliance, support unit which is used for carrying the trays is explained.
[0004] In the Patent Application No
EP1553349, in a domestic appliance, especially in a cooking appliance, mounting of an accessory
fitting to the inner wall of the oven is explained.
[0005] The aim of the present invention is the realization of an oven comprising a tray
carrying support unit which can be easily mounted and dismounted by the user.
[0006] The oven realized in order to attain the aim of the present invention is explicated
in the claims.
[0007] In the oven of the present invention, support units are used which are mounted on
two side walls of the casing in order to place the trays one above the other and spaced
apart in the cooking cavity. The support unit has more than one guiding rod extending
from the front backwards in the horizontal direction and a front connecting rod and
a rear connecting rod, extending vertically to the guiding rod. The support unit is
mounted to a bearing means disposed at the rear side of the side wall such that can
make a sliding motion parallel to the side wall, by means of two hanger extensions
parallel to each other, extending at the rear side thereof and the user is provided
to easily dismount and mount the support unit for example for cleaning purposes. The
bearing means is compressed by two hanger extensions from above and below by passing
between the hanger extensions when the support unit is mounted and the ends of the
hanger extensions extend towards the rear wall of the oven in a free manner behind
the bearing means so as to remain within the cooking cavity.
[0008] The bearing means allows the hanger extensions to make a sliding movement parallel
to the side wall and at a certain distance away from the side wall during the mounting
and dismounting of the support.
[0009] The bearing means has a head section and an externally threaded body and on the head
section an annular groove which provides the ends of the hanger extensions to be beared
by being seated from the upper side and lower side in a free manner is disposed.
[0010] In an embodiment of the present invention, the rear connecting rod of the support
unit is positioned at a certain distance away from the side wall and functions as
a stopper that prevents the trays moving on the guiding rod from colliding with the
rear wall. In this embodiment, the support unit furthermore comprises S shaped bends,
disposed on the rear ends of the guiding rods, for securing the guiding rods to the
rear connecting rod which is away from the side wall at a distance as much as the
length of the upper support extension and the lower support extension.
[0011] In another embodiment of the present invention, the support unit comprises a further
extension which bends from the end of at least one of the hanger extensions towards
the side wall and provides the hanger extensions to align with the bearing means by
bearing against the side wall during the assembly of the support unit.
[0012] In another embodiment of the present invention, the support unit comprises two further
extensions that move away from each other by bending outwards at the ends of the hanger
extensions and the hanger extensions pass to the annular groove by easily fitting
onto the bearing means and ease of assembly is provided to the user..
[0013] The oven realized in order to attain the aim of the present invention is illustrated

[0015] The oven (1) comprises a cooking cavity (2) wherein the trays (T) containing the
foods to be cooked are placed, a casing (5) in the shape of an open-fronted box, surrounding
the cooking cavity (2), and having a top wall, a bottom wall, a rear wall (3) and
two side walls (4), a support unit (6) mounted removably on the inner surface of the
side wall (4) facing the cooking cavity (2) and providing the trays to be placed therein
and to be removed from the cooking cavity (2) by pulling outward in the horizontal
direction by supporting the trays (T) to be carried in the cooking cavity (2) one
above the other and spaced apart, a front fitting hole (7) disposed on the front side
of the side wall (4) for fitting the front of the support unit (6) to the side wall
(4), a rear fitting hole (8) for fitting the rear side of the support unit (6) to
the side wall (4) and more than one riveted bolt (9) having threads on their inner
periphery, fixed to the front and rear fitting holes (7, 8).
[0016] The support unit (6) has more than one guiding rod (10) that extend parallel to the
side wall (4) from the front backwards in the horizontal direction, preferably in
groups of two, for supporting the trays (T) placed in the cooking cavity (2) from
their sides, one above the other and spaced apart, a front connecting rod (11) which
connects the front ends of the guiding rods (10), extending vertically to the guiding
rods (10) at the front side of the side wall (4) and a rear connecting rod (12) which
connects the rear ends of the guiding rods (10), extending vertically to the guiding
rods (10) at the rear side of the side wall (4) (Figure 2). The support unit (6) furthermore
comprises a front support extension (15) which extends vertically to the side wall
(4) by bending from the front end of the guiding rod (10), passing through the side
wall (4) and provides the portion thereof behind the side wall (4), to be removably
fixed by elements such as a conical end (C) and spring (Y) (Figures 2 and 6).
[0017] The oven (1) of the present invention comprises:
- two hanger extensions (13), disposed in the support unit (6), parallel to each other
and extending onwards from the point of connection of two superposed guiding rods
(10) to the rear connecting rod (12) towards the rear wall (3), being parallel to
the inner surface of the side wall (4) facing the cooking cavity (2) and
- a bearing means (14) mounted to the riveted bolt (9) at the rear fitting hole (8),
- gripped from above and below by the hanger extensions (13) by passing between two
hanger extensions (13) and
- bearing the hanger extensions (13) in the cooking cavity (2) such that their ends
freely extend towards the rear wall (3) (Figure 4).
[0018] The bearing means (14) provides the hanger extensions (13) to be kept vertical and
almost at a constant distance (L) to the inner surface of the side wall (4) when the
support unit (6) is mounted (Figure 5).
[0019] The bearing means (14) allows the hanger extensions (13) that are seated thereon
from above and below to make a sliding motion parallel to the side wall (4) and away
from the side wall (4) as much as the said distance (L) during the mounting and dismounting
of the support unit (6).
[0020] In the oven (1) of the present invention, while the support unit (6) is mounted to
the side wall (4) of the casing (5), a wide movement allowance is provided for the
user, particularly at the hard-to-reach rear portion of the side wall (4). While the
support unit (6) is mounted, the user firstly holds the support unit (6) vertically
and moves backward on the side wall (4) and parallel to the side wall (4) and provides
the hanger extensions (13) to be engaged to the bearing means (14). The user then
couples the front side of the support unit (6) by moving towards the side wall (4)
and thus the assembly of the support unit (6) is completed. The user assembles the
support unit (6) with only two simple movements, first by moving backward on the side
wall (4) and thereafter by moving the front side of the support unit (6) towards the
side wall (4) and takes the support unit (6) out of the oven (1) by applying the opposite
of the same movements.
[0021] The bearing means (14) has a head section (16) and an externally threaded body (17).
The bearing means (14) is mounted by screwing its body (17) to the riveted bolt (9)
fixed to the rear fitting hole (8) such that its head section (16) remains on the
inner side of the side wall (4) facing the cooking cavity (2) (Figure 5).
[0022] The bearing means (14) furthermore has an annular groove (18) that surrounds its
head section (16) and provides bearing of the ends of the hanger extensions (13) by
being freely seated from the upper side and the lower side (Figures 5 and 7).
[0023] The annular groove (18) is sized such that the hanger extensions (13) can move freely
therein during the mounting and dismounting of the support unit (6) and when the hanger
extensions (13) are seated in the annular groove (18) some amount of space is left
therebetween (Figure 5).
[0024] In an embodiment of the present invention, the support unit (6) has an upper support
extension (19) and a lower support extension (20) disposed at the upper end and lower
end of the rear connecting rod (12), bending to extend towards the side wall (4) vertically
and when mounted the ends thereof bearing against the side wall (4) (Figures 2, 4).
[0025] When the support unit (6) is mounted, the rear connecting rod (12) is not contiguous
to the side wall (4) and remains at a distance away from the side wall (4) as much
as the length of the upper support extension (19) and the lower support extension
(20), thus functioning as a stopper, preventing the tray (T) from colliding with the
rear wall (3) and the the enamel breakages when the tray (T) placed on the guiding
rods (10) is pushed backwards (Figure 4).
[0026] In this embodiment, the support unit (6) furthermore has more than one S shaped bend
(22) at the rear ends of the guiding rods (10), extending without contacting the side
wall (4) and providing the guiding rods (10) to be fastened to the rear connecting
rod (12) that remains at a distance as much as the length of the upper support extension
(19) and the lower support extension (20) away from the side wall (4) (Figures 2,
4).
[0027] In another embodiment of the present invention, the support unit (6) has a further
extension (21) that bends toward the side wall (4) from the end of at least one of
the hanger extensions (13) (Figures 2, 4 and 5). The further extension (21) provides
the inner surface of the side wall (4) to be used as a reference surface for the assembly.
During the assembly of the support unit (6), the further extension (21) bears against
the side wall (4) and allows the hanger extensions (13) to align with the bearing
means (14) at the desired distance (L) to the side wall (4), making the assembly process
easier for the user.
[0028] In another embodiment of the present invention, the support unit (6) has two further
extensions (121) at the ends of the hanger extensions (13) that bend outwards by moving
away from each other (Figure 7). In this embodiment, the further extensions (121)
provide the hanger extensions (13) to easily engage to the bearing means (14) during
the assembly of the support unit (6) and make the assembly process easier for the
user.
[0029] In the oven (1) of the present invention, the user is provided with a wide movement
allowance in the assembly of the support unit (6) particularly in the hard to reach
rear side of the side wall (4) and the support unit (6) can be easily mounted and
dismounted to/from the casing (5).
