[0001] The subject matter of the invention is a tank wagon for transport of liquid products.
[0002] Previously used tank wagon for transport of liquid products has a tank in a form
of a longitudinal cylinder with a horizontal axis, at both ends closed with convex
heads, and an underframe on which the tank is seated. The underframe has end sills
provided with buffing and draw gears. Length of the tank wagon and transverse dimensions
are limited by international railway regulations. Permissible wagon width is not identical
over the entire wagon length. Permissible minimum wagon width occurs in the middle
of the wagon. For this reason external diameter of the cylindrical tank has to be
smaller than permissible minimum wagon width. Moreover maximum wagon length is often
limited by the requirements of the user.
[0003] The tank wagon known from other utility model, number Ru60353, has a tank equipped
in the middle part with an insert. At the same time, the tank has one chamber and
is inclined with respect to the horizontal plane at an angle of 1 degree in the direction
of the central drain valve. The tank is seated on two saddles fixed permanently to
two bolsters and is screwed on four shaped supports fixed permanently to underframe
extreme parts, and the valve system is connected via a system of levers with a gas
pendulum stub pipe for hermetic un/loading, with a T-pipe terminated with flange attachments,
and moreover at both ends of the tank in the upper part of the tank heads there are
hooks for lifting an empty tank.
[0004] The essential feature of the tank wagon, according to the invention, is such that
the tank shell, in the middle part has a narrowing formed by at least two conical
parts (cans) with their tops directed to the middle of the tank. The generators of
the conical parts and cylindrical parts of the tank shell in tank lower part are situated
along a straight line, or generators of the conical parts in tank lower part are situated
at an obtuse angle.
[0005] The cylindrical part is seated favorably between conical parts.
[0006] Tank wagon for transport of liquid products, according to the invention, enables
obtaining of the maximum tank volume capacity for the adopted length, thanks to the
maximum utilization of permissible space defined by international railway regulations.
[0007] The subject matter of the invention in embodiment examples is depicted in the drawing
where fig. 1 shows a tank wagon for transport of liquid products with conical and
cylindrical parts of the tank shell at the bottom located along a straight line as
viewed from the side, fig 2 tank wagon with conical parts in the lower part of the
tank situated at an obtuse angle as viewed from the side, fig. 3 - tank wagon with
conical parts separated by the cylindrical parts of the tank shell at the bottom situated
along the straight line as viewed from the side and fig. 4 - tank wagon with conical
parts separated by the cylindrical part, while the conical parts in the bottom section
of the tank are situated at an obtuse angle.
Example 1
[0008] Tank wagon for transport of liquid products has underframe 1, seated on both bogies
2, on which a tank is seated. Underframe 1 is equipped with end sills 4 with buffing
and draw gears 5 mounted thereon. The tank is seated axially on the underframe 1 and
consists of the tank shell 3 having two conical parts 6 between cylindrical parts
closed with convex heads 7, thanks to which the tank diameter is larger at its ends
than in the middle. Such design of the tank enables enlarging of the tank volume capacity
while maintaining, the same tank length. Shell parts are connected so as the generators
of the conical parts 6 and cylindrical parts of the tank shell 3 in the bottom section
of the tank are situated along a straight line. Moreover, the tank 3 has fittings
8 for tank filling and emptying and a manway 9 that is tightly closed with a separable
cover 10.
Example 2
[0009] Tank wagon for transport of liquid products constructed as in the first example except
that its generators of the conical parts 6 in the lower section of the tank are situated
at an obtuse angle which ensures gravitational flow of product in the lower section
of the tank during unloading.
Example 3
[0010] Tank wagon for transport of liquid products constructed as in the first example except
that between the conical parts 6 there is a cylindrical part 11.
Example 4
[0011] Tank wagon for transport of liquid products constructed as in the second example
except that there is a cylindrical par 11 seated between the conical parts 6.
1. Tank wagon for transport of liquefied products including tank seated on an underframe

heads, moreover the tank has emptying fittings and a manway closed with a separable
cover, characterized in that in the middle section the tank shell (3) has a narrowing formed by at least two conical
parts (6) with their tops directed towards the tank middle.
2. Tank wagon according to claim 1 characterized in that the generators of the conical parts (6) and cylindrical part of the tank shell (3)
in tank lower section are situated along the straight line.
3. Tank wagon according to claim 1 characterized in that the generators of the conical parts (6) in the lower section of the tank are situated
at an obtuse angle.
4. Tank wagon according to claim 1 characterized in that cylindrical part (11) is seated between the conical parts (6).
