(54) BAG FOR PACKAGING LUGGAGE

(57) The invention relates to a bag for packaging luggage, which has one or two openings for introducing the item of luggage into the bag, each opening comprising tamper-proof adhesive tape for closing same. The bag can also comprise holes for the handle and the wheels of the item of luggage. The bag is made of pliable, flexible plastic.

Description

Technical Field

[0001] The present invention belongs to the field of luggage transport security, where it can be applied in any type of air, railway, sea, or road transport.

[0002] The present invention facilitates bag security through the air-tight closure of the item of luggage by means of bags. The theft of articles from said item of luggage or the introduction of other objects into same is prevented by applying the plastic wrapping in plastic bag format which will be mentioned and described.

Background of the Invention

[0003] For packaging luggage, primarily for air transport, a plastic wrap system consisting of industrial plastic film which can be stretched and is somewhat weak, such as the film used for wrapping a tray of sausage or a sandwich, has been in use now for over a decade. Said film is presented on plastic rolls in packaging machines located exclusively in airports, which prevents packaging the item of luggage where the trip actually begins, that is, at home or in a hotel, etc. The same can be said with respect to the return trip, that is, there are no machines of this type installed at ports, service or train stations, and of course not in homes, for the purpose of closing and protecting the item of luggage from the time it is packed until it is unpacked. Furthermore, the air-tight closure with said plastic film is conventionally done like a parcel and is not tamper-proof, nor does it allow inspection or make it easy to apply tags.

[0004] With the invention of the plastic bag for packaging luggage, which is provided with tamper-proof adhesive tape, the item of luggage can be closed and thus protected from the starting point of or point of return from the trip. While it can be stretched, it does not break nor does it break if the item of luggage itself is not subjected to tampering, by tearing the adhesive tape or cutting the bag, since the plastic is stronger than the industrial plastic film referred to above. Furthermore, it allows inspection and makes it easy to apply tags.

Disclosure of the Invention

[0005] The invention relates to a bag for packaging luggage, provided with one or two openings, as required for use. The most characteristic aspect of the invention is that the opening of the bag is provided with tamper-proof adhesive security tape, such that once the tape is adhered to the bag itself, it is impossible to open it back up without tearing it, which assures the seal on the item of luggage.

[0006] The bag for packaging luggage has several presentations, but all the models are provided with the mentioned adhesive tape.

[0007] The bag can present holes for the wheels and handles of the item of luggage to be free, facilitating its transport, without losing the maximum level of protection, and allowing, for example, canine unit inspection by state security forces in customs, airports, stations, on roads, etc.

[0008] The bags for packaging luggage will have the same measurements as the suitcases that are ordinarily used in transport (large, medium and small), but due to their pliable plastic material they can adapt to millimetric differences which suitcases or backpacks may have according to uses and international standards or to different manufacturers.

[0009] The bag is made from transparent or opaque elastic plastic material. Due to the exceeded calculation in gauges required for manufacturing same, said elasticity is coupled with a strength that may be unique on the market.

[0010] Finally, the bag allows tags to be applied as well as data, messages, images, advertising logos, etc., to be written or printed on same.

Figure 2 shows a perspective view of the invention with two openings.

Figure 3 shows a perspective view of the invention with an opening and holes for handles and wheels.

Figure 4 shows a perspective view of the invention with an opening.

Figure 5 shows the method of wrapping a suitcase with the bag for packaging luggage.

Figure 6 shows the method of wrapping a carry-on bag with the bag for packaging luggage.

Preferred Embodiments

[0012] The bag 1 for packaging luggage comprises one, see Figure 2, or two openings 2, 3, and each of the openings 2, 3 is provided with a tamper-proof adhesive tape 4 for the closure of said openings.

[0013] As design options and to facilitate transport of the item of luggage, for example a suitcase 7 or a travel bag 8, the bag can be provided with holes 5 for handles and holes 6 for the wheels, without losing the maximum level of protection, and allowing, for example, canine unit inspection by state security forces in customs, airports, stations, on roads, etc.

[0014] The bag 1 for packaging luggage is made from pliable, elastic plastic material, the calculation of which in gauges is exceeded, that is, the plastic material with which the bag for packaging luggage is made will be exceeded in thickness, so said elasticity is coupled with a strength that may be unique on the market. The material can be opaque or transparent.

[0015] The bags will have the same measurements as the suitcases that are ordinarily used in transport, i.e., large, medium and small, but due to the fact that the material with which the bags are manufactured is pliable and extendible, the bags can adapt to millimetric differences which suitcases or backpacks may have according to uses and international standards or to different manufacturers.

[0016] Finally, the bag for packaging luggage allows tags to be applied as well as data, messages, images, advertising logos, etc., to be written or printed on same.

[0017] The simplicity and economic cost of the packaging, combined with the seal on the item of luggage offered by the invention, provides additional security against violent or illicit acts, such as introducing drugs into the item of luggage, the theft of articles kept in said item of luggage, etc.
