An installation for removing the deadheads or sullage pieces from castings, comprising a deadhead or sullage piece removing tool holding press (1), the castings (P) being presented under the tool at a working station on lower positioning tools (16, 17, 18, 19), characterized in that it comprises a roundabout conveyor (4) with starlike arranged arms (5) adapted, at their ends, to support the lower positioning tools (16, 17, 18, 19) by mutual engagement of corresponding forms, and in that the deadhead or sullage piece removing station comprises an elevating device (21) for each positioning tool adapted to bring the latter to a deadhead or sullage piece removing position, said device being adapted to support the force of the press tool and to relieve therefrom the corresponding arm of the roundabout conveying device.
