1. A process for butt-welding heavy current conductors having a large cross-section, in particular with the aid of double pressure welding, characterised in that each of the conductor ends (11) to be welded is provided with a central bore (12) at its end face.

Um beim stumpfen Kaltpreßschweißen von Leiterenden größerer Querschnitte die durch die maximale Größe des Schweißstromes einer entsprechenden Kaltpreßschweißmaschine bedingte maximale Querschnittsgröße überschreiten zu können, werden die zu verschweißenden Leiterenden (11) an ihrer Stirnseite mit einer zentralen Bohrung (12) versehen, die derart bemessen wird, daß der verbleibende Querschnitt dem maximal zulässigen Querschnitt entspricht.
