In the device (1) for the mechanical evacuating and closing of plastic bags (2) are arranged in a supporting frame (11), in order to permit a rapid evacuation requiring little outlay in work and energy, a clamping device (21) formed from clamping jaws (31, 32) which receives the bag (2) to be evacuated or gassed in the region of the bag opening (4), a suction blade (22) which can be introduced between the clamping jaws (31, 32) and into the bag, as well as a welding device (23). The clamping device (21) and the suction blade (22) can jointly be horizontally displaceable in phase, so that evacuation and gassing take place during the displacement movement, and after their return a new bag can be clamped on although an evacuated bag is still located in the welding device (23) for welding. The clamping device and the suction blade may, however, also be arranged to be stationary. In this manner, handling is made easy and a good evacuation of a plastic bag filled in particular with fresh meat or fresh fish can be effected especially since the air immediately above the material to be packed can be removed by suction. <IMAGE>

Bei einer Vorrichtung (1) zum maschinellen Evakuieren und Verschließen von Kunststoffbeuteln (2) sind in einem Traggestell (11), um eine rasche Evakuierung mit geringem Arbeits- und Energieaufwand zu ermöglichen, eine aus Spannbacken (31, 32) gebildete Spannvorrichtung (21), die den zu evakuierenden oder zu begasenden Beutel (2) im Bereich der Beutelöffnung (4) aufnimmt, ein zwischen den Spannbacken (31, 32) hindurch und in den Beutel einführbares Saugschwert (22) sowie eine Schweißvorrichtung (23) angeordnet. Die Aufspannvorrichtung (21) sowie das Saugschwert (22) können gemeinsam taktweise horizontal verschiebbar sein, so daß die Evakuierung und Begasung während der Verschiebebewegung erfolgen und nach deren Rückführung bereits ein neuer Beutel aufgespannt werden kann obwohl sich noch ein evakuierter Beutel zum Verschweißen in der Schweißvorrichtung (23) befindet. Die Aufspannvorrichtung und das Saugschwert können aber auch stationar angeordnet sein. Auf diese Weise ist bei einfacher Handhabung eine gute Evakuierung, zumal die Luft unmittelbar über dem zu verpackenden Gut abgesaugt werden kann, eines insbesondere mit Frischfleisch oder Frischfisch gefullten Kunststoffbeutels zu bewerkstelligen.
