Vorrichtung mit einem im wesentlichen senkrechten Steigrohr (13) mit einer vorgeschalteten Zufuhrmöglichkeit für einen vorgeformten Luftstrom, einer am Steigrohr vorgesehenen Aufgabemöglichkeit für den zu regenerierenden Gießereialtsand und einer dem Steigrohr nachgeordneten Prallhaube (9), wobei an der Prallseite der Prallhaube dieser ein Zylindermantel (11) zugeordnet ist, dessen Durchmesser mindestens demjenigen des Aufprallbereichs der Prallhaube entspricht.
