[origin: WO8201394A1] In order to achieve oil saving in the operation of Diesel engines, in particular marine engines, which are provided with impulse driven turbo chargers, such an engine is converted by replacing the connections which connect the turbines of the turbochargers and the exhaust valves of the engine, as regards each turbine, with an exhaust gas collector (15, 16, 17, and 18, respectively) which is separate for the respective turbine. Each of the collectors (15, 16, 17, and 18) is connected between the inlet (25, 26, 27, and 28, respectively) of the respective turbine and the exhaust valves belonging to the respective turbine. The collectors (15, 16, 17, and 18) have a volume which is so adapted that the maximum pressure created in each of the collectors (15, 16, 17 and 18) by the gas outflow from the corresponding cylinders lies closely adjacent to but does not exceed the average pressure in the scavenging and charging air receiver (31) of the engine.

Afin de reduire la consommation d'huile dans le fonctionnement de moteurs diesel, notamment des moteurs marins, pourvus de turbo compresseurs entraines par des impulsions, un tel moteur est converti en remplacant les connexions entre les turbines des turbo compresseurs et les soupapes d'echappement du moteur, en ce qui concerne chaque turbine, par un collecteur de gaz d'echappement (15, 16, 17, et 18 respectivement) qui est separe de la turbine respective. Chacun des collecteurs (15, 16, 17, et 18) est connecte entre l'orifice d'entree (25, 26, 27, et 28, respectivement) de la turbine respective et les soupapes d'echappement appartenant a la turbine respective. Les collecteurs (15, 16, 17, et 18) possedent un volume adapte de sorte que la pression maximale creee a l'interieur de chacun des collecteurs (15, 16, 17, et 18) par l'ecoulement de gaz provenant des cylindres correspondants atteigne un niveau proche de celui de la pression moyenne dans le recepteur (31) d'air de refoulement et de compression du moteur, sans toutefois depasser ce niveau.
