In a rolling-mill finishing shop for elongated material, simplifications in the work-flow downstream of a cooling rack are achieved in that each group of elongated material removed from the cooling rack is continuously aligned in a plurality of rows in the course of forward movement, is cut by flying shears, and is braked to the position of rest by a lifting and braking apparatus during transverse movement, another group of elongated material following at a distance reaching the lifting position during the braking period of the previous group of elongated material. The group of elongated material coming to rest is then conveyed transversely for collection or stacking. <IMAGE>

In einer Walzwerks-Adjustage für Stabmaterial werden im Anschluß an ein Kühlbett Vereinfachungen im Arbeitsfluß dadurch erzielt, daß dede vom Kühlbett abgetragene Stabgruppe in der Vorwärtsbewegung kontinuierlich mehradrig gerichtet, auf einer fliegenden Schere geschnitten und unter Querbewegung durch eine Aushebe- und Bremsvorrichtung zur Ruhelage abgebremst wird, wobei eine im Abstand folgende Stabgruppe während der Bremszeit der vorhergehenden Stabgruppe in Aushebeposition gelangt. Die zur Ruhe gekommene Stabgruppe wird dann zum Sammeln oder Stapeln quergefördert.
