Such a plant has a storage tank (1) for the metal melt (2), an open die (5) connected thereto by way of a pipe, and a horizontal strand guide (20) supporting the strand (19). To avoid dishing of the strand broad side despite the low ferrostatic pressure in horizontal continuous casting plants and to obtain uniform cooling of the strand (19), the open die (5) having vertical broad side walls (11) and horizontal narrow side walls (10) is arranged upright and the strand guide (20) has rollers (21) with vertically aligned axes (22), supporting the strand (19) on its broad sides. <IMAGE>
Abstract (de)
Eine solche Anlage weist einen Vorratsbehälter (1) für die Metallschmelze (2), eine daran leitungsmässig angeschlossene Durchlaufkokille (5) und eine horizontale, den Strang (19) stützende Strangführung (20) auf. Um trotz des bei Horizontalstranggiessanlagen geringen ferrostatischen Druckes ein Einbuchten der Strangbreitseite zu vermeiden und um eine gleichmässige Kühlung des Stranges (19) zu erzielen, ist die Durchlaufkokille (5) mit vertikalen Breitseitenwänden (11) und horizontalen Schmalseitenwänden (10) hochkant angeordnet und weist die Strangführung (20) den Strang (19) an seinen Breitseiten stützende Rollen (21) mit vertikal augerichteten Achsen (22) auf.
