1. Test apparatus for simulating the production of coated web material, with a coating device (11, 32) for coating a web (1, 30) and with an air-drying zone (15, 44) equipped with air blasting elements (22, 50) for drying a coating applied onto the web, characterized in that in the air drying zone (15, 44) transporting means (23, 48) are provided, in order either to move the air blasting elements (22, 50) continuously or in an oscillating manner along the web when the web is stationary, or, when the air blasting elements are stationary, for moving the web (1, 30) in an oscillating manner relative to the air blasting elements, and that means are provided for monitoring and adjusting the temperature and humidity of the blasting air supplied to the air blasting elements (22, 50) and means (6, 16; 33, 46) are provided for moving the web (1, 30) through the apparatus, so that the web is moved successively through the coating device (11, 32) and the air-drying zone (15, 44) and is subsequently moved out again therefrom.

Eine Testapparatur zum Simulieren der Herstellung eines beschichteten Bahnmaterials umfasst einen Beschichtungskopf (11) zum Beschichten des Bahnmaterials, eine Lufttrocknungszone (15), in welcher eine Anzahl im Abstand zueinander angeordneter Luftblasorgane (22) entweder über einen stationären beschichteten Abschnitt des Bahnmaterials (1) mit bestimmter Geschwindigkeit bewegt wird, oder der beschichtete Bahnabschnitt mit bestimmter Geschwindigkeit und mit bestimmter Amplitude oszillierend vor der ortsfesten Anordnung der Luftblasorgane hin- und hergeführt wird, wobei eine Einrichtung (25) für die Zufuhr von Luft zu den Luftblasorganen, Mittel zur Überwachung und Änderung von Temperatur und Feuchtigkeit der Luft, die diesen Organen zugeführt wird, und eine Einrichtung zum Fortbewegen der Bahn (1), wodurch die Bahn am Beschichtungskopf beschichtet, dann in die Trocknungszone bewegt und, sobald sie trocken ist, aus dieser Zone wieder herausbewegt wird, vorgesehen sind. Ein Verfahren zum Simulieren der Herstellung von beschichtetem Bahnmaterial umfasst das Beschichten der Bahn und unschliessendes Trocknen unu Konditionieren in einer Aufeinanderfolge von Zonen. Durch die Verwendung der Testapparatur und des Verfahrens wird beschichtetes Bahnmaterial eingespart.
