The invention relates to devices acting on propellers of the variable-pitch type. A control mechanism B, integral with a propeller shaft A in which the axles N pass, controls the orientation of the blades. A shaft O capable of movement makes it possible to obtain the various pitches. It is housed in a cylinder block G which is capable of rotation. The shaft O is displaced in translational motion or laterally under the impetus of two pistons Z and M. The rotations of the axles N are then mutually equal or unequal, and the constant pitch or the sinusoidal pitch of the propeller is then obtained. The ship comprises two devices situated in two attached pieces, a port one and a starboard one, beneath the underwater hull in the first front third. Depending on the different pitches, propelling, directional-control or lateral-displacement resultants are obtained for the ship. In its application, the invention relates to ships which have to manoeuvre with precision. <IMAGE>

Dispositif de commande pour l'obtention des pas variable constant et pas variable sinusoïdal d'une hélice, pour la propulsion et la gouverne d'un navire. - L'invention concerne les dispositifs agissant sur les hélices du type à pas variable. Un mécanisme de commande B solidaire d'un arbre porte-hélice A dans lequel passent les axes N, commande l'orientation des pales. - Un arbre O pouvant se mouvoir, permet d'obtenir les différents pas. Il est logé dans un bloc-cylindre G qui peut entrer en rotation. - L'arbre O se déplace en translation ou latéralement sous l'impulsion de deux pistons Z et M. - Les rotations des axes N sont alors égales ou inégales entr'elles et on obtient alors le pas constant ou le pas sinusoïdal de l'hélice. - Le navire comporte deux dispositifs situés dans deux appendices à babord et à tribord, sous la carène au premier tiers avant. - En fonction des différents pas, on obtient des résultantes de propulsion, de gouverne ou de déplacement latéral du navire. - Dans son application, l'invention concerne les navires devant manoeuvrer avec précision.
