[origin: ES8603033A1] The adhesive is applied to the edges of sheet metal components (B) in the form of a continuous strip (k) which is folded to a U-shape. The adhesive strip is initially supplied covered with a backing strip (T). After passing through a device which peels off the backing strip, the adhesive strip passes round, conical guide rollers (3) which initiate a longitudinal fold. - The strip is then folded over the edge of the metal sheet by a pair of spring-loaded pressure rollers (1,2). They are mounted on swing arms, with the axes of the pivots parallel to the roller axes so that the rollers swing in the coordinate (YZ) plane.

Die Vorrichtung umfasst ein Applikationsrollenpaar (1,2), welches ein Klebstoffband (K) U-förmig um den Rand eines Blechformteils (B) walzt. Das Klebstoffband (K) befindet sich zunächst auf einem Trägerband (T) und wird zussammen mit diesem (TK) von einer Vorratsrolle mittels Transportwalzen (6,7) abgezogen. Das Klebstoffband (K) wird nach seiner Trennung vom Trägerband (T) über eine freilaufende Vorfaltrolle (3) dem Applikationsrollenpaar (1,2) zugeführt und das Trägerband (T) abgeführt. Die Applikationsrollen (1,2) sind um parallel zu den Achsen der Applikationsrollen verlaufende Achsen schwenkbar und gleichzeitig zusammen mit der Vorfaltrolle in Richtung dieser Achsen federnd verschiebbar angeordnet. Die Vorfaltrolle (3) ist im Längsschnitt konkav oder V-förmig und zusätzlich mittels weicherer Federn in Richtung der Achsen der Applikationsrollen verschiebbar gelagert, so dass sie der Blechkante kontinuierlich folgen und das Klebstoffband gegen diese Kante drücken kann.
