The vacuum switch includes a movable connecting pin, a drive lever, a spring, and a stop. The spring is connected between the connecting pin and the drive lever. The engagement of the spring and the stop with the drive lever yields lever arms of different lengths. The relative dimensions of the lever arms are such that when the switching tube is in the off position, an opening force cancels a switching-on closing force.
