Eine Vorrichtung zum Mahlen von Getreide, insbesondere Mais, umfaßt ein Gehäuse (1) mit einem Ringsieb (6) für einen Durchtritt gemahlenen Gutes und mit einer Anzahl innerhalb des Ringsiebs (6) umlaufender, in einem Winkelabstand voneinander angeordneter Mahlwerkzeuge (17), die unter Belassung eines Ringspalts (18) and der inneren Umfangsfläch des Ringsiebs (6) entlangführbar sind. Um Betriebsstörungen durch im Innefraum des Gehäuses aufschwebendes leichtes Mahlgut weitestgehend zu vermeiden und mit hohen Betriebsdrehzahlen arbeiten zu können, sind die Mahlwerkzeuge (17) auf ihrer vom Ringsieb (6) abgewandten Seite mit einer in Werkzeuglängsrichtung verlaufenden Reihe von Ausnehmungen (20) versehen, durch die die freien Enden je eines Satzes von ihrerseits innerhalb des Ringsiebs für einen Umlauf entgegen der Umlaufrichtung der Mahlwerkzeuge drehbar im Vorrichtungsgehäuse (1) abgestützten Schlagwerkzeugen (21) hindurchbewegbar sind.
