1. A method of rescuing persons from locations situated high above the ground, by using a rescue container (11-14) suspended by a load-carrying cable (16) from a helicopter and moved to a position close to the said location, the rescue container comprising a platform (20) via which the persons can climb into the rescue container in order subsequently to be flown away, characterised in that the point of rescue is a mobile unit (1) of a suspended cable railway which has come to a stop while suspended from a supporting cable (3) and which provides access on a side (5) parallel with the direction of travel for passengers to climb in and out or to take or leave their places, and in that the rescue container (11-14) which is carried by the helicopter is suspended from the supporting cable (3) of the suspended cable railway in such a position in front of or behind the mobile unit (1) and is carried by the supporting cable (3) during transfer, accompanied by a simultaneous relieving of the load-carrying cable (16) and in that the platform (20) adjacent the rescue container is disposed on that side (5) of the mobile unit (1) which is parallel with the direction of travel and is disposed at the height of the floor (24) of the said mobile unit (1).

Das mittels eines Lastseiles (16) von einem Helikopter getragene Rettungsgerät mit einem Rettungsbehälter (11 - 14) für Personen wird vom Helikopter an die stehengebliebene Seilschwebebahnkabine gebracht und dort in einer Lage in der sich der Ruttungsbehälter (11 - 14) in Richtung des Tragseils (3) vor oder hinter der Kabine befindet, und eine an den Rettungsbehälterboden (11) anschliessende Plattform (20) neben der zum Tragseil (3) parallelen, zum Ein- und Aussteigen ausgebildeten Kabinenseite befindet, an das Tragseil (3) genhängt. Die Passagiere können dann von der Kabine zur Plattform (20) und in den Rettungsbehälter (11 - 14) des am Tragseil (3) hängenden und dabei in bezug auf die Kabine stillstehenden Rettungsgeräts umsteigen. Dabei wird der Helikopter in einer etwas tieferen als der vorher zum Anhängen des Rettungsgeräts an das Tragseil (3) erforderlich gewesenen Höhe schwebend gehalten, so dass das Lastseil (16) entlastet ist und Durchhang hat, wobei z.B. durch Luftströmungen und Steuervorgänge verursachte Bewegungen des Helikopters nicht auf das Rettungsgerät übertragen werden.
