Abstract (en)
The cooling process uses a continuously flowing aqueous liquid. A space of constant thickness is formed by arranging a wall provided with at least one orifice facing the part of the product to be cooled, the two surfaces, that of the part of the product to be cooled and that of the wall provided with the orifice, being substantially parallel. The said space is filled completely with the above aqueous liquid, which is introduced into the said space through the orifice(s) provided in the said wall and, using the aqueous liquid itself which is thus flowing, stirring of the aqueous liquid filling the said space is produced.

Procédé pour refroidir, au moyen d'un liquide aqueux débité en continu, un produit métallique en mouvement. On forme un espace d'épaisseur constante en disposant une paroi pourvue d'au moins un orifice en face de la partie de produit à refroidir, les deux surfaces, celle de la partie du produit à refroidir et celle de la paroi pourvue de l'orifice, étant sensiblement parallèles. On remplit entièrement le dit espace au moyen du liquide aqueux précité, ce liquide étant introduit dans le dit espace à travers le ou les orifices ménagés dans la dite paroi et, au moyen du liquide aqueux lui-même ainsi débité, on crée une agitation du liquide aqueux remplissant le dit espace.
