[origin: EP0203653A2] To manufacture the socket (11), a blank (31) is stamped out of a flat spring metal sheet and is subsequently rolled into a tube. In the centre region, the blank comprises a plurality of webs (42), located parallel to one another and separated by holes (41). The webs (42) of this centre part are pressed inwards by rotation of the adjacent cylindrical regions (15, 17) and now form an elastically deformable, neck-shaped constriction (19) into which a non-sprung pin can be inserted to produce an electrical contact. <IMAGE>
