[origin: WO8605172A1] The process and device involve the separation of a part of the edge (4a) which was originally connected to the hollow glass (4). The place of separation is heated by means of a gas burner to a temperature above the softening point and the part of the edge (4a) which is to be separated is taken away from the original position to a prescribed axial distance "X" in such a way that a wasp's waist is formed in the glass cross section. The wasp's waist is bombarded by at least one energy ray (20) as the rotation continues until the glass parts are separated through vaporization. The edge of the hollow glass (4) is again heated with a gas burner and caused to melt until the place of separation has the prescribed rounding off and glass.

Un procédé et dispositif permettant de fabriquer des verres creux (4) ayant un bord lisse et arrondi par séparation d'une partie marginale (4a) originellement liée au verre creux (4). L'emplacement de la séparation est chauffé par un brûleur à gaz (5) jusqu'à une température supérieure au point de ramolissement et la partie marginale (4a) à séparer est amenée à une distance axiale "X" prédéterminée de la position originelle de sorte à former un rétrécissement de la section transversale du verre. Ce rétrécissement est bombardé par au moins un rayon d'énergie (20), alors que sa rotation se poursuit, jusqu'à ce que l'évaporation du verre provoque la séparation des parties en verre. Le bord du verre creux (4) est à nouveau chauffé avec un brûleur à gaz, pour le faire fondre jusqu'à ce que l'emplacement de la séparation présente l'aspect arrondi et brillant prédéterminé.
