[origin: WO8607552A1] The method comprises the coating of a brass wire (2) with a layer of a high vapour tension, low melting point metal or alloy such as zink, cadmium, magnesium or alloys of said metals, by passing the wire vertically from bottom to top into a nozzle (7) supplied with molten metal by a crucible (8). After cooling in a housing (10), the wire thus coated is brought to its final diameter and the coating to a useful thickness by a wire-drawing operation.

Le procédé consiste à revêtir un fil de laiton (2) d'une couche d'un métal ou alliage à bas point de fusion et haute tension de vapeur tel que le zinc, le cadmium, le magnesium ou des alliages de ces métaux, en faisant passer le fil verticalement de bas en haut dans une buse (7) alimentée en métal en fusion par un creuset (8). Après refroidissement dans une enceinte (10), le fil ainsi revêtu est amené à son diamètre final et le revêtement à son épaisseur utile par une opération de tréfilage.
