Abstract (en)
Used foundry sands, in particular clay-bound used sands, are wet- regenerated by preliminary scouring of the used sand mixed with water, treatment of the used sand/water mixture in several successive attrition stages of a friction washing plant, drawing off and scouring the mixture at each attrition stage, feeding the scoured mixture into the next attrition stage in each case and finally draining and drying the regenerated sand obtained. A device for carrying out the abovementioned process comprises at least two friction washing plants with up to three attrition cells and a grader between each two successive friction washing plants, to which the mixture accruing in the preceding friction washing plant is fed for scouring and from which the scoured mixture is fed to the next friction washing plant.

Gießerei-Altsande, insbesondere tongebundene Altsande, werden auf nassem Wege dadurch regeneriert, daß der mit Wasser versetzte Altsand vorentschlämmt, das Altsand/Wasser-Gemisch in mehreren hintereinander geschalteten Attritionsstufen einer Reibwaschanlage behandelt, das Gemisch jeder Attritionsstufe abgezogen und entschlämmt und das entschlämmte Gemisch der jeweils nächsten Attritionsstufe zugeführt wird und schließlich der erhaltene Regenerat-Sand entwässert und getrocknet wird. Eine Vorrichtung zur Durchführung des vorgenannten Verfahrens besteht aus wenigstens zwei Reibwaschanlagen (7, 9) mit höchstens drei Attritionszellen und je einem Klassierer (6, 8, 10) zwischen zwei aufeinander folgenden Reibwaschanlagen, denen das in der vorangehenden Reibwaschanlage anfallende Gemisch zum Entschlämmen zugeführt wird und aus dem das entschlämmte Gemisch der nächsten Reibwaschanlage zugeführt wird.
