[origin: JPS6453007A] PURPOSE: To remove the play between a spherical end face of a pivot and a spherical cavity of a joint socket by engaging a retaining member which is made of a spring element that is borne by elastic bias against the joint socket. CONSTITUTION: An idle compensating member 2 is arranged in a rocker arm 1 and a spherical end face 5 of a pivot 4 of the idle compensating member 2 is engaged with a spherical cavity 6 of a joint socket 7. A plane surface 8 of the joint socket 7 contacts with an end of a valve stem 3. An end of a restraining element 10 which is made of a spring element is linked to the end of a piston of the idle compensating member 2 by way of a collar 11. The restraining element 10 is biased elastically, then an another side of a leg part 12 cooperates with the joint socket 7. Thereby, the play between the spherical end surface 5 and the spherical cavity 6 can be removed.

Bei einem zwischen einem Kipphebel (1) und einem Ventilschaft (3) eines Verbrennungsmotors eingeschalteten Kugelgelenk, bestehend aus einem mit dem Kipphebel (1) zusammenwirkenden Zapfen (4) mit balliger Stirnfläche (5), die mit einer Kugelkalotte (6) einer Gelenkschale (7) zusammenwirkt, welche an ihrer der Kugelkalotte (6) gegenüberliegenden Seite eine Planfläche (8) aufweist, mit dem sie gegen den Ventilschaft (3) anliegt, wobei von dem Zapfen (4) oder einem mit diesem verbundenen Bauteil ein Halteelement ausgeht, das die Gelenkschale (7) derart hintergreift, daß diese verliersicher am Zapfen gehalten ist, wird zum Zwecke der Spielausschaltung in dem Kugelgelenk das Halteelement als Federelement (10) ausgebildet, das unter elastischer Vorspannung an der Gelenkschale (7) anliegt und so die ballige Stirnfläche (5) des Zapfens (4) in spielfreier Anlage in der Kugelkalotte (6) hält.
