[origin: EP0311753A1] The device for changing tools in quenching machines in combination with platen shuttles, change magazines or manual operation consists of a housing (2, 3) which is provided with coolant feed and discharge channels (1) and comprises an exchangeable die block (4-8) arranged in the interior of the housing (2, 3), specifically receiving the workpiece (17) and provided with coolant feed and discharge channels (16), a receiving ring (12) having a locking device (9) and one or more thrust ring(s) (10, 11), at least one thrust ring providing a passage (24) for a pressing spike (19), and a base plate (15) fitted with coolant feed channels (14) and a receiving spike (13). According to a preferred embodiment, the die blocks and the housing are designed in such a way that they form channels which ensure uniform flow of the coolant around the workpiece.
