Abstract (en)
The originally cylindrical shape of casings (10) for cans having a longitudinal seam (12) is to be transformed into the shape of a truncated pyramid with rounded rectangular plan. For this purpose, the casings (10) are each placed on an expansion mandrel (42) which has a plurality of segmental rods (46) arranged about an expansion mandrel axis (B) and capable of being spread apart. The expansion mandrels (42) are arranged on an expansion mandrel revolver (40) about a central axis (A). Arranged coaxially with each expansion mandrel (42) is an orientation device (62) which can be driven in rotation about the associated expansion mandrel axis (B). Each orientation device (62) is assigned a sensor (66) which interrupts the rotation of the orientation device (62) in a predetermined position of the longitudinal seam (12) of the casing (10) with respect to the segmental rods (46). Die ursprünglich zylindrische Form von Zargen (10) für Dosen, die eine Längsnaht (12) aufweisen, soll in eine Pyramidenstumpfform mit abgerundet-rechteckigen Grundriß umgewandelt werden. Zu diesem Zweck werden die Zargen (10) auf je einen Spreizdorn (42) gesteckt, der mehrere rings um eine Spreizdornachse (B) angeordnete, auseinanderspreizbare Segmentstangen (46) aufweist. Die Spreizdorne (42) sind auf einem Spreizdornrevolver (40) rings um eine zentrale Achse (A) angeordnet. Gleichachsig mit jedem Spreizdorn (42) ist eine Orientiervorrichtung (62) angeordnet, die um die zugehörige Spreizdornachse (B) drehantreibbar ist. Jeder Orientiervorrichtung (62) ist ein Sensor (66) zugeordnet, der in einer vorbestimmten Stellung der Längsnaht (12) der Zarge (10) in bezug auf die Segmentstangen (46) die Drehung der Orientiervorrichtung (62) unterbricht. Jeder Orientiervorrichtung (62) ist eine Aufschiebevorrichtung (70) zum Verschieben der orientierten Zarge (10) zum Spreizdorn (42) zugeordnet.
