Side wall for a continuous casting device between movable walls of metallic products, in particular of thin products, device comprising two cooled movable walls which are opposite and driven simultaneously in the same direction (3, 4) and two of the said side walls (6) delimiting the casting space, characterised in that the side wall comprises in the vicinity of the movable walls (1, 2), two inserts (7, 8) of a material having good thermal conductibility, which adjoin the edge (11) of the movable walls, present a face (73, 83) directed towards the casting space, extend so as to be in the proximity of the neck (5) between the movable walls, and delimit between them a zone consisting of a covering of thermally insulating material (9), the surface (91) of which is plane or concave. The invention applies particularly to continuous casting between cylinders of thin steel products. <IMAGE>

Paroi latérale pour un dispositif de coulée continue entre parois mobiles de produits métalliques, notamment de produits minces, dispositif comportant deux parois mobiles refroidies se faisant face et entraînées simultanément dans le même sens (3,4) et deux desdîtes parois latérales (6) délimitant l'espace de coulée, caractérisée en ce que la paroi latérale comporte au voisinage des parois mobiles (1,2), deux inserts (7,8) en matériau de bonne conductibilité thermique, qui jouxtent le bord (11) des parois mobiles, présentent une face (73,83) dirigée vers l'espace de coulée, s'étendent jusqu'à proximité du col (5) entre les parois mobiles, et délimitent entre eux une zone constituée d'un revêtement en matériau thermiquement isolant (9), dont la surface (91) es plane ou concave. L'invention s'applique notamment à la coulée continue entre cylindres de produits minces en acier.
