Abstract (en)
[origin: EP0372563A2] On a stationary basic body (10), the vice has a movable gripping jaw (11) and a stationary gripping jaw (12). Furthermore, there are draw-down jaws which enable the workpiece to be secured in the correct position during clamping by means of the drive device (16). Due to the fact that the draw-down jaw (18) can be moved up to a stop on the basic body (10), the draw-down forces, which essentially counteract the clamping force, being derived from a force-transmitting element (13) known per se which absorbs the deformations of the vice, greater positional constancy and thus greater precision is achieved. <IMAGE>
