[origin: US4976089A] A packing apparatus has an input device which includes an advancing device for forwarding a wrapper sheet of indefinite length in a feeding direction along a conveying path; a processing device for performing an operation on the wrapper sheet; a cutting device severing the wrapper sheet transversely to the feeding direction for consecutively forming wrapper sheet lengths; and a bag-shaping device arranged downstream of the input device as viewed in the feeding direction, for receiving wrapper sheet lengths from the input device. The input device comprises a monitoring device for sensing the wrapper sheet and for generating a signal upon detecting a defect in the wrapper sheet and a deflecting device arranged downstream of the monitoring device and the cutting device for deflecting a defective wrapper sheet, in response to the signal, out of the conveying path into a waste position.

Die Verpackungsvorrichtung weist eine Beutelformmaschine auf und ist zum Herstellen von mit Schüttgut zu füllenden Beuteln aus einem Einschlagmaterialband (5) vorgesehen, das über eine Eingangseinrichtung der Beutelformmaschine zugeführt wird. Die Eingangseinrichtung umfasst ein Bandfördersystem (251,252,253), eine Leimauftragseinrichtung (6) eine Bearbeitungsstation (23) und eine Trenneinrichtung (261,262,263), in der das Einschlagmaterialband (5) in Bandabschnitten getrennt wird. Die Eingangseinrichtung weist eine Kontrolleinrichtung (24) zum Nachweisen von Fehlern im Einschlagmaterial und Auslenkmittel (281, 285,283) die bei einem Einschlagmaterialbandfehler den Anfang eines ankommenden Bandabschnittes in einen Ausscheidebehälter fallen lässt.
