This device is intended for the stepwise treatment of a web (60) of flat material which is spread out over the bearing surface of a work table (1) and comprises a carriage (20) which can be moved back and forth in a controlled manner over the bearing surface of the work table (1) in the direction of the longitudinal extent of the web (60), on which carriage is arranged a head which can be moved back and forth in a controlled manner transversely with respect to the longitudinal extent of the web (60) and is intended for receiving a tool. The device additionally comprises a transport carriage (30) which is provided with a holding arrangement for engagement with the web, and which can be moved back and forth between an engagement position and a release position. The transport carriage (30) can be used to displace the web (60) of flat material in a defined manner with respect to the work table (1). <IMAGE>

Eine automatisch gesteuerte Vorrichtung für die abschnittsweise Behandlung einer Bahn (60) aus Flachmaterial, das auf der Auflagefläche eines Arbeitstisches (1) ausgebreitet wird, und die einen in Richtung der Längserstreckung der Bahn (60) über die Auflagefläche des Arbeitstisches (1) gesteuert hin- und herbewegbaren Schlitten (20) aufweist, an dem ein quer zur Längserstreckung der Bahn (60) gesteuert hin- und herbewegbarer Kopf zur Aufnahme eines Werkzeugs angeordnet ist, weist zusätzlich einen Transportschlitten (30) auf, der mit einer Halteanordnung für den Eingriff mit der Bahn versehen ist und der zwischen einer Eingriffsstellung und einer Freigabstellung hin- und herbewegbar ist. Mit Hilfe des Transportschlittens (30) kann die Bahn (60) aus Flachmaterial in definierter Weise bezüglich des Arbeitstisches (1) verlagert werden.
