[origin: US5080297A] A cutting installation for cutting out blanks from a sheet material band comprises a cutting table comprising a conveyor band forming a working surface and operable to move in a conveying direction, and a source of low pressure applicable thereto, a cutting head movable over the working surface of the conveyor band, the cutting head comprising a cutting tool, a sheet material band supply station arranged upstream of the conveyor band in the conveying direction, and a sheet material band receiving station arranged downstream of the conveyor band in the conveying direction. To rationalize the cutting operation and enable the waste to be separated automatically, the installation has a waste collector received on the cutting table, the waste collector comprising a carriage reciprocably movable along the conveyor band and including a guide roller extending transversely to the conveying direction and placeable upon the sheet material band, and a driven, rotatable storage roller arranged above the guide roller.

Eine Schneidanlage (5) zum Ausschneiden von Zuschnitten (3) aus Bandmaterial (1) weist einen unterdruckbeaufschlagbaren Schneidtisch (6) mit einem die Arbeitsfläche bildenden Förderband (8), ein über die Arbeitsfläche verfahrbares Schneidaggregat (9), das ein auf eine bestimmte Schnitttiefe einstellbares Schneidwerkzeug (10) besitzt, sowie einen Materialspender (16) in Förderrichtung vor und einer Materialablage (18) in Förderrichtung nach dem Schneidtisch (6) auf. Um einen rationellen Schneidbetrieb und eine automatische Abfalltrennung zu ermöglichen, nimmt der Schneidtisch (6) einen Abfallsammler (26) auf, der aus einem dem Förderband (8) entlang hin- und herverschiebbaren Längsschlitten (27) mit einer am Bandmaterial (1) aufsetzbaren Umlenkrolle (28) und einer dreh- und antreibbar gelagerten Speicherrolle (29) besteht.
