Molten lead (4) is dispensed to permanent moulds or casting moulds from a thermally insulated steel tank (1) in portions which correspond exactly to the capacity of the box-shaped metering slide (5), this being accomplished by moving the metering slide backwards and forwards pneumatically between a filling position and an emptying position. In the emptying position (in the figure), the outlet opening (9) of the slide and the emptying channel (8) in the bottom of the tank communicate, while the inlet opening (11) and bore (17) simultaneously form a ventilation duct. In the filling position on the other hand, the inlet opening (11) moves into a position of coincidence with the filling channel (16), the bore (17) forms a venting duct with the opening (12) of the slide and the outlet opening (9) is closed. The construction of the slide also allows the installation of a plurality of adjacent chambers and thus permits multiple metering. The arrangement of the filling channels below the lead level (19) prevents the entrainment of oxides into the metering slide. <IMAGE>

Aus einem wärmeisolierten Stahlbehälter (1) wird schmelzflüssiges Blei (4) in Portionen, die dem Fassungsvermögen des kastenförmigen Dosierschiebers (5) exakt entsprechen, an Kokillen oder Gießformen abgegeben, indem der Dosierschieber pneumatisch zwischen einer Füllposition und einer Entleerungsposition hin und her bewegt wird. In der Entleerungsposition (im Bild) stehen Auslaßöffnung (9) des Schiebers und Entleerungskanal (8) im Behälterboden in Verbindung, während Einlaßöffung (11) und Bohrung (17) gleichzeitig einen Belüftungstrakt bilden. In der Füllposition dagegen gelangt Einlaßöffnung (11) mit Einfüllkanal (16) zur Deckung, Bohrung (17) bildet mit Öffnung (12) des Schiebers einen Entlüftungstrakt und Auslaßöffnung (9) ist verschlossen. Die Schieberkonstruktion ist auch der Einrichtung mehrerer nebeneinanderliegender Kammern zugänglich und gestattet so eine Mehrfach-Dosierung. Durch die Anordnung der Einfüllkanäle unterhalb des Bleispiegels (19) wird das Einschleppen von Oxiden in den Dosierschieber verhindert.
