[origin: EP0399912A1] The present invention relates to a method for producing a cylinder-head cover with oil separator and to a cylinder-head cover capable of being produced by this method. Into a first plastic piece (1) combining a wall (3) and a skirt (4) bordering this wall peripherally is inserted a second piece grouping a wall (28), delimiting with the abovementioned wall (3) an oil-separation chamber (27), and a rim (30) bordering this wall (28) peripherally and matching the skirt (4) of the first piece (1) up to the immediate vicinity of the free edge (6) of this skirt (4). The second piece (2), made of metal, stiffens the first piece (1) and, in particular, makes it possible to transfer to the immediate vicinity of the free edge (6) of the skirt (4) of the latter, intended to be laid against a face (7) of a cylinder head (8), forces clamping the cylinder-head cover against this face, which are exerted centrally on the cylinder-head cover (clamping member 23, 24, 25), especially when bracing means (26, 31) are provided between the respective walls (3, 28) of the two pieces (1, 2). Aesthetically pleasing, rigid and light-weight cylinder-head covers can thus be produced economically. <IMAGE>
