Bei der Streicheinrichtung ist an der von der Kammer für die Streichmasse (10) ausgehenden Mündung (11) zwischen dieser und der Gegenwalze bzw. Warenbahn ein Deckkörper (1) vorgesehen, der an seiner der Mündung (11) zugewandten Fläche einen Austrittskanal (7) bildet, der von dem an der Streichklinge (4) von der Streichmasse durchströmten Raum (9) wegführt. Dieser Austrittskanal hat eine Drosselwirkung. Ferner bildet der Deckkörper (1) gegenüber der Streichklinge (4) einen zweiten Drosselkanal (8), der sich relativ nahe an der Streichkante der Streichklinge (4) befindet. Vorzugsweise endet der Deckkörper (1) am Austrittsende des zweiten Drosselkanals (8) in einer Spitze (16), die relativ nahe an der Gegenwalze bzw. Warenbahn angeordnet ist. In günstiger Weise kann der Austrittskanal (7) zwischen einem Basiskörper(5) und dem Deckkörper (1) gebildet werden, wobei der Basiskörper (5) in einer höchstens 10 mm größeren Entfernung von der Streichklinge (4) endet, als die lichte Weite (e) des zweiten Drosselkanals (8) beträgt.
